Dear cherished clients,

I wanted to reach out to share some happy news - our family is growing again! With this exciting new chapter, I've decided to extend my maternity leave a little longer than planned. I'll be focusing on life at home for the next while, and don't anticipate returning to practice until at least April 2027.

This wasn't an easy decision, as I've truly missed being in clinic and working with all of you. It's been such a privilege to be part of your health and recovery journeys over the years, and I'm so grateful for your trust, patience, and continued support while I take this time with my growing family.

In the meantime, I want to make sure you're well taken care of. Here are a few practitioners I can confidently recommend for ongoing care:

The diaphragm, abdomen, and pelvic floor function together as a coordinated unit to provide stability, support, and control for the body's core. Dysfunction or weakness in any of these components can lead to issues such as poor posture, back pain, pelvic floor disorders, or impaired breathing mechanics. Assessing the overall function of each of these components is necessary to address issues that might seem independent of each other but are actually directly linked.
Diaphragmatic breathing, also known as deep breathing, helps strengthen the diaphragm and promotes relaxation. Slow, controlled, deep breathing promotes full expansion of the ribcage, as well as diaphragm compression with downward movement into the abdomen.
Spinal stabilization exercises such as Planks or Dead-bugs target the abdominal muscle groups together. The more stabilized the core, the less strain on the lower back, diaphragm, and pelvic floor. Remember your diaphragmatic breathing while practicing!
Pelvic Floor Exercises, such as Kegel exercises or contractions, strengthen the muscles of the pelvic floor. However, if your pelvic floor is hypertonic, too tight, Kegels will not give you the benefit you’re looking for. In this case, slow, diaphragmatic breath can be helpful to relax the pelvic floor muscles.
Chat with your healthcare or fitness professional about the benefits of balancing your diaphragm, abdomen and pelvic floor!

Lola thought she looked quite lovely in her purple harness and matching purple knee brace. We tend to agree 😀

What is your body trying to tell you?

Good to remember when you are trying to find answers to healing.

The body never does anything without a reason. Listen and stop blaming it.

Think like your body thinks.

A Little About Me

After completing my Bachelors degrees in Arts and then in Education, I went on to follow my passion of health and fitness. While working for nearly 10 years as a Certified Personal Trainer, my client base had evolved to working with clients with a more rehabilitative focus. I found manual osteopathy while searching for a way to treat a debilitating injury to my knee, and I have seen for myself the benefits of manual osteopathy. I have since gone on to study at the National Academy of Osteopathy in North York, Toronto, Ontario, where I earned my Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice. I believe in an evidence-based approach to healthcare and manual therapy, and in treating the body as a single sophisticated unit. My athletic background in competitive swimming and bodybuilding, combined with my years as a CPTS, has given me a sharp eye for how the body moves, and an appreciation for the significance of proactive therapeutic and rehabilitative applications on healing and recovery, and achieving a greater quality of life. This appreciation inspires me to continuously expand on my knowledge through research and self education in an effort to provide better care for my clients.
