12/01/2025
December 1st is recognized as World AIDS Day.
"In 2025, a historic funding crisis is threatening to unravel decades of progress. HIV prevention services are severely disrupted. Community-led services, vital to reaching marginalized populations, are being deprioritized while the rise in punitive laws criminalizing same-sex relationships, gender identity, and drug use is amplifying the crisis, making HIV services inaccessible.
This World AIDS Day, join us in calling for sustained political leadership, international cooperation, and human-rights-centred approaches to end AIDS by 2030." (United Nations)
While 2025 is bringing some real challenges, especially for community-led HIV prevention services that many people rely on, it’s also a reminder of why strong, supportive communities matter so much. When services face cuts or barriers, it’s everyday people, advocates, and organizations who step up to keep each other safe, included, and informed. Now more than ever, pushing for accessible care and standing up for everyone’s right to feel supported can make a real difference. Together, we can protect the progress that’s been made and keep moving forward!
