Mary Ellen Macdonald (PhD), anthropologist and Professor in Palliative Medicine at Dalhousie University, will explore some fundamental elements of grief, with a specific focus on caring for persons with dementia.

She will explore answers to the questions: What is grief? What can I grieve? What can we do to make our communities more ‘grief aware’ and ‘grief literate’?

We had the pleasure of hosting our annual Birches Family Holiday Party, and what a joyful celebration it was! 🎄

A huge thank you to the Twin Oaks Birches Charitable Foundation for generously sponsoring this special event and helping us create meaningful holiday memories for residents and their families.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to the many community members, local businesses, friends, and families who donated gifts, cards, and shared Christmas cheer. Your kindness and generosity truly made the season brighter and reminded us how fortunate we are to be surrounded by such a caring community.
