Could you, or someone you know or care for, benefit from Registered Massage Therapy, but find accessibility barriers are keeping you from receiving treatment? We have good news!

Carley Cooke RMT offers limited Mobile Massage Treatments in the community. If your injury or limited mobility hinders your ability to receive treatment at the clinic, we may be able to provide treatment to you in your home, hospital room, long term living residence, or the like. Patients can be treated on a portable table, seated, in bed, and other positions as needed.

Also note that online scheduling is not available for Mobile Massage. 🌿

Carley Cooke, RMT is also the owner of Arrow Lakes RMT. She has been a massage therapist for 10 years, and is also owner of Nakusp Integrated Health Inc., where our clinic is located.

She started her career in Ontario, and moved to Nakusp in 2017, where she has since started a family and planted roots. She's very happy to be able to provide a needed service to the community, one that she is so happy to have become a part of.

She enjoys working with a variety of patients seeking care for anything from rehabilitation and injury management, to relaxation and body maintenance. She has a special place in her heart for treating youth, as the benefits of massage can be very empowering.

✨A little more about Brittany....

The complex interconnectedness of the body has forever inspired Brittany.

Hailing from a small coastal community in Northern Nova Scotia she began her educational journey at Cape Breton University where she studied Sports and Human Kinetics. Years later, in 2010, she went on to obtain her Massage Therapy diploma from ICT Northumberland College in Halifax. After working in Halifax for four years Brittany made the jump to a multidisciplinary Toronto-based clinic. While in Toronto she studied at the Canadian College Of Osteopathy which ended up catapulting her into a Yoga Teacher Training program. Brittany has done extra studies in Myofascial release, Thai Massage, Chapman’s Reflexes and Craniosacral Therapy.

With 8 years of post-secondary education in anatomy, physiology and treatment methodology, Brittany offers unique treatments. Pulling from so many different treatment styles lends the opportunity to develop specific plans for each patient. Her philosophy is simple: “It is my job to provide a safe space for the body to express itself so that I may see where dysfunction is holding. Only after an extensive interview, orthopedic testing and palpation can I see where the body is suffering. It is my goal to relieve the body of that suffering, to help regain its ability to properly circulate fluids so that tissue may heal.” Brittany uses some of her treatment time educating the patient on their dysfunction so that they may become active participants in their body’s overall health and wellbeing by offering corrective exercises, movements and mindful cues to minimize postural dysfunction.

She is thrilled to be part of the team and looks forward to learning more about YOU and how she can help!

This is an incredibly overwhelming time for so many in our community - evacuees, volunteers, etc. Please know we understand that your appointments may slip your mind. We understand, no need to worry about us right now. Hoping everyone can stay safe and that there's some magic in the forecast that sends down some much needed rain ☔

Our clinic is located in Nakusp, but our Community reaches so much farther than that. Our hearts are aching for our patients who are currently evacuated, or are being threatened by evacuation. Please let your appointment commitments be the last thing on your mind - we understand if you don't arrive or contact us beforehand. Know our entire community is standing with you through this. If you are in need of supplies, help, or direction, there is a Recovery Center set up at the Nakusp arena. A wonderful team of volunteers is available to help in so many ways. 🌿

As BC has moved into Stage 3 (the soft opening) of their reopening plan, it is important to update our patients about the clinic's ongoing Covid-19 requirements.

*😷 Patients are still required to wear masks in all common areas (waiting room, bathroom) regardless of vaccination status. Masks are still available at the clinic if you do not have one with you. You may have received communication from your practitioner about any changes or updates to their individual policies for during a treatment. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your practitioner.
*🧼👏 Hand hygiene and social distancing when possible is still encouraged. Hand sanitizer is available throughout the clinic, and patients are asked not to arrive too early for their appointments to avoid congestion in the waiting room.
* 🤧🤒🤕 If you are feeling ill, or have been around someone who has been ill, please rebook your appointment, or contact your practitioner to discuss your options.

All the same protocols still apply at the clinic, even if you have received your first vaccination. 😷 Masks are mandatory and available at the clinic should you not have one. Hand sanitizer is available as well. Please rebook your appointment if you have any symptoms associated with Covid-19. Feel free to contact the clinic if you have any questions or concerns. 🌿

Our community has been very lucky, with no active Covid-19 cases in our area, until recently. Now, more than ever, it is important to make sure you are following all protocols to keep you and our community safe. Even if you have received a vaccination, you are still required to follow the guidelines. Immunity takes time to build up, you are not immediately protected.
At the clinic, you are still being asked to Self-Check for symptoms and rebook appointments if you exhibit any of symptoms associated with Covid-19. Mask are mandatory for everyone entering the clinic. If you do not have a mask, they are available inside. Hand sanitizer is also available. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the clinic or your treatment provider for more information.

Although the province is moving into Phase 3, the protocols at the clinic remain the same at this time.
Please advise before arriving for your appointment if you have concerns with wearing a mask. Patients are still asked to complete the BC Self-Assessment Tool the day prior to their appointment. And if you have travelled outside BC in the last 14 days please contact the clinic. This does not necessarily mean your appointment will be cancelled, it is just a chance for us to chat about it a bit more and make a decision together.

Here is the link to the BC Self-Assement Tool. It is required that a patient complete this 24 hours prior to their treatment and contact the clinic if they are suggested to isolate. Please be honest! This will not always result in a cancellation of the appointment. Assessment will be done at the appointment as well.

Also consider that at the time of appointment I am required to ask, and have a conversation about, whether you have travelled by airplane or cruise, anywhere outside of BC. If this will be a concern for you, please contact the clinic.

✨🙋 Should I cancel my massage therapy appointment? 🤷✨

It is always the best practice to reschedule your appointment if you are feeling any cold or flu symptoms. It is best for both you, and others.😷

Especially now, with the concerns over the spread of Covid-19, we ask that you rebook your appointment if you are not feeling well. The clinic will be waiving any late cancellation fees due to illness - it is never too late to cancel.

I understand the concern patients have right now, and I want to assure you that the clinic is following all protocols for cleaning, disinfecting and handwashing, and ask that you all do the same. For the time being, we are open for business as usual. 👍
