Great basic info here! And call us anytime you are struggling!

Breastfed babies need to eat often in the first few weeks. Newborns should feed on demand, at least 8 or more times in 24 hours.

During growth spurts, there will be days when your baby will be very hungry and feed more often. Your breast milk will change and increase to meet your baby's needs.
Watch your baby for signs of hunger, such as:
- Rooting reflex – turns their head and opens their mouth
- Tongue clicking or lip smacking
- Mouth movements that imitate suckling
- Putting their hands to their mouth

It can take time for you and your baby to get used to breastfeeding, and your routine may differ from someone else’s. That’s okay.

Be patient and seek help if you need support.
