Just because it’s in your shopping cart, doesn’t mean it’s safe.

From infant self-feeding devices and baby walkers to balloon blowing kits - banned products can look innocent but pose real dangers and can cause serious injuries or worse.

If you bought a consumer product online, always double check to see if it’s been banned or recalled. If it’s banned in Canada, it’s not a “deal,” it’s a danger.

When in doubt, check it out: https://ow.ly/Rf8e50Wn1ck

June 21 is Indigenous Peoples Day — a time to honour the rich cultures, languages, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across these lands.

This day is purposefully held on the summer solstice, the longest day of the year — a moment that holds deep spiritual meaning for many Indigenous communities. It is a time of connection: to the land, to ancestors, to ceremony, and to each other.

It’s a day of joy, pride, culture, and community.

A day to honour Indigenous creativity, knowledge, and resilience.

A day to witness and uplift Indigenous voices — past, present, and future.

Whether this is your first time learning about Indigenous Peoples Day, or it’s a day you hold close, we invite you to take a moment to listen, learn, and celebrate the richness and diversity of Indigenous cultures.

Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing Dads and soon-to-be Dads out there today! We’re so honored to see you all nurturing your babies and partners every week.

A special warm hug of compassion also for the Dads whose babies didn’t make it home with them ❤️.

Our 4-Week Summer Baby Care Series is here and you get to enjoy it from the comfort of your own home!

All pregnancy HUB participants, pregnant or newly parenting, are invited to join Hayley, RN every Wednesday in July for an informal and relaxed online drop-in series that is focused on baby care. Hayley will share a new topic every week and participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, connect with other participants and build a social support network. This is an interactive session where participants will benefit most by having their cameras on and engaging in the discussion!

Feel free to drop-in to one or all sessions. As a group we will decide the topic for the following week based on participant feedback.

Not a HUB participant yet? DM us "SIGN UP" to get a link. The Pregnancy HUB program is always free for all pregnant, postpartum and parenting people in BC.

Current HUB participants can sign up on through the link in our bio to 'HUB Program Schedule".

We can't wait to see you and your bump or baby! Partners or supportive family members are always welcome to join you.

Something to check out this summer, if you have some bigger kids! https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1Azve9gNVA/

🦖We've got visitors! DINOSAURS are at the Nanaimo Museum!

Dinosaurs of BC

Saturday, June 7 – Saturday, September 6, 2025

Dig into prehistoric British Columbia and get up close and personal with “Buster”, the Iron Lizard of the Sustut River, and the other dinosaurs that once roamed the province’s highest peaks, densest forests and most remote river basins. Through research done by the Royal BC Museum’s palaeontology team, we’re learning just how many ancient creatures once called these lands home. Follow the footsteps of tyrannosaurs and ankylosaurs, see beautifully preserved marine fossils and meet the BC-born and bred Buster, our reigning resident ferrisaurus. Dinosaurs of BC is a travelling exhibit from the Royal BC Museum.
