Conscious Breathing helps connect to your brain and body in a new way. Learning to relax physiologically calms your whole body and nervous system in a way no other methodology can. Using breath along with other tools you use for pain, such as physio, massage, Yoga, Pilates, meditation ect. This will aid your pain faster and more effectively.

Breath is Medicine ~

Breathing is our number one source of energy, providing the essential oxygen our bodies need to function optimally. Every breath we take fuels our cells, helping to produce the energy required for daily activities and overall vitality. When we breathe slowly, deeply and consciously, we enhance this energy flow, revitalizing both our body and mind, calm the nervous system, and help heal your tissues.

🍁Fall Equinox & Your Inner Autumn🍁

Today marks the Fall Equinox, the time of balance between light and dark. For women, this shift beautifully mirrors the luteal phase of our cycle, our inner autumn.

☀️Early Luteal -
Still feels like summer. You’ve got energy to check things off your list, organize, clean, plan, and tackle details. This is the time for to-do list magic: bookkeeping, meal prep, updating calendars, or finally cleaning that closet.

🍁Late Luteal
Here comes the fall . Your energy draws inward. You may feel quieter, more reflective, and emotions like anger, frustration, or sadness can rise (hello, PMS). Just like leaves fall and soil composts, this is a time to let go of what’s not serving you.

🌬 What’s happening in your body?

Progesterone peaks, making you feel calmer but sometimes sleepier.

Estrogen drops, which can lead to cravings or “hanger.”

Breathing shifts: Progesterone stimulates your breathing, lowering CO₂ by up to 25%. Without enough CO₂, your cells can’t absorb oxygen efficiently, leaving you tired, irritable, or achy.

💡 Your Fall Equinox Breath Hack:
The key isn’t more oxygen it’s better oxygen use. Slow, light, gentle nose breathing helps restore CO₂ balance, easing PMS symptoms and giving you:
✔️ More energy
✔️ Less pain
✔️ Calmer emotions
✔️ Better performance

🌻 Support yourself this season:

🫘Eat nourishing meals with protein + healthy fats

🚶🏼Swap intense workouts for walks, stretching, or gentle movement

🧘🏼Breathe slower, lighter, and through your nose

The Fall Equinox invites us to honor this slower rhythm: outward action balanced with inward reflection. Just like the seasons, our cycles are here to guide us. 🍂

Hack Your Cycle With Your Breath

Did you know your breathing changes throughout your menstrual cycle? Understanding this can help reduce fatigue, shortness of breath, pain, and mood swings.

Research shows:
✨ Breathlessness peaks mid-cycle (around days 10–22).
✨ Ovulation (days 14–16) can bring a small dip in symptoms.
✨ Symptoms vary depending on your BMI, asthma, or smoking habits.

By practicing functional breathing techniques, you can:
💙 Reduce tension and pain
💙 Improve mood and energy
💙 Take control of your respiratory health throughout your cycle

Personalized breath sessions can help you hack your cycle and feel more in control every day!

Practicing Breathing in Pregnancy and Before Labour

The most effective way to prepare for labour is to practise breathing regularly during pregnancy. These techniques aren’t complicated, they’re simple but powerful tools that can become second nature with repetition. When you regularly practise breathing in pregnancy, before labour begins, your body and mind will be more likely to instinctively respond with calm, control, and focus when contractions start.
