Practicing Breathing in Pregnancy and Before Labour

The most effective way to prepare for labour is to practise breathing regularly during pregnancy. These techniques aren’t complicated, they’re simple but powerful tools that can become second nature with repetition. When you regularly practise breathing in pregnancy, before labour begins, your body and mind will be more likely to instinctively respond with calm, control, and focus when contractions start.

We concluded our two-day BreatheFirst Circle (.control) at the Duwamish Longhouse today, and we were deeply touched by the warmth and generosity shown to us. The hospitality was exceptional. It was a true gift to connect with relatives and friends, and we will be eagerly anticipating our next visit.

Wear Red Day for Women's Heart Health.
Today we wear red and on Monday I'm hosting a Connection to Heart Breath Class proceeds going to Women Heart Health.

We want to acknowledge women's heart health because heart disease is a major risk factor for women. Heart disease and stroke are the leading causes of death for women in the United States and Canada. Women are often under-diagnosed and under-treated for cardiovascular disease.

Heart disease can be prevented by making lifestyle changes, such as eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly, and managing stress.
