Nanaimo Lifeline announces with gratitude a generous donation of $1,000 from the Nanaimo Lions Club for the Silent Guardian Fund!
Nanaimo Lifeline provides peace of mind for seniors and medically at-risk people and their families through our Personal Emergency Response Service. Our goal is to help people live in their homes independently and safely for as long as possible, which is more important than ever now with assisted living facilities having lengthy wait lists and being prohibitively expensive, as well as a critical shortage of health care providers in our community. We also recognize that not everyone is able to afford our services. Thatโs why the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation, which owns and operates Nanaimo Lifeline, established the Silent Guardian Fund to help those with fewer resources afford the minimal monthly fee. A mere $444 donation can support a Lifeline client for an entire year.
The Nanaimo Lions Club has supported the Silent Guardian Fund with over $17,000 over the years, which is the equivalent of supporting 39 clients each for a year.
Thank you, Nanaimo Lions Club!
