Twenty years ago, I lost 60 pounds. Other than a 15-pound gain during COVID — which I later lost on Ideal Protein — I’ve kept it off for two decades.

What I’ve learned is this: weight loss is not a phase you finish. The weight may come off, but the challenge of eating healthy never completely goes away.

This photo is just me prepping my lunch before work. Nothing fancy. Just another day of doing the small things that help me stay on track.

People often think maintaining weight loss means you eventually “arrive” at a place where it all becomes easy. In reality, you still have stress, cravings, busy days, emotional eating, and temptation. The difference is that over time, you learn what actually helps you feel satisfied and in control.

For me, that means prioritizing protein and vegetables, drinking enough water, and eating for my health not my comfort.

That’s why lasting weight loss is about more than losing pounds. It’s about learning habits you can live with long after the weight is gone.
