We’re spiritual beings having a human experience. We have intuition and five senses, but we also carry layers of conditioning. That conditioning can quiet or even shut down our gifts, especially when it comes from early emotional trauma.

For me, the imprint of fight or flight began before I was even born. My emotional needs weren’t met, and my system adapted by becoming hyperaware. Sounds got louder. Energy felt more intense. I now see how that state of activation shaped my sensitivity and how easy it is to confuse trauma responses with empathic abilities.

Understanding the difference has been part of reclaiming my intuition and learning what safety actually feels like in my body.

People Pleasing & Saying No Without Guilt
A space to explore why it’s so hard to say no

Do you often say, “Yes” when your energy is already low? Or agree to things just to keep the peace? Many of us struggle with putting others first and then end up feeling drained, resentful, or disconnected from ourselves. In this guided discussion we’ll explore why people pleasing shows up, how to set boundaries with compassion, and practical ways to honour our own needs without guilt. We’ll draw on Human Design teachings as a framework, while leaving plenty of space for open sharing and reflection.

Looking back, I was incredibly hypervigilant early in my journey. Always scanning, always bracing. But over time, with nervous system work, that edge has softened. I still notice the impulse, but it doesn’t control me like it used to.
And in the space that’s opened up, something else is rising, my gifts. My intuition feels clearer. I sense more safety, more inner knowing, and I’m more attuned to the people around me.
Maybe that’s the deeper truth: we’re not just empaths, we’re nervous systems adapting to the world, and when we begin to feel safe, our natural intelligence shines through.

In fight or flight, everything heightens. Light feels brighter, sounds louder, and your system stays on alert, ready to react. You’re constantly scanning for threats, wondering what might trigger you next.

Now layer that with being an empath. When you're already sensitive to others' energy, this state can feel overwhelming. The constant input becomes too much to process, and it’s easy to lose your sense of center.

But awareness is the first shift. When you recognize this pattern, you can begin creating more internal safety, softening your edges, and returning to calm.

When I think of self-love, I think of self-care. The little and large things we do to honour ourselves.

I also think of your inner critic as the voice inside your head critical, sharp, and relentless? There is also another voice which is loving, honest, and kind?

And I think of boundaries. Are you a good friend to yourself when it’s time to say no? Can you say yes to what you need, even when others want something else?

Self-love is not just a feeling. It’s made visible through choices and actions that reflect your values.
It’s found in the clarity of what you want and what you don’t. And the courage to live by that truth.

Are you making aligned choices and taking aligned action?
Not just doing what needs to be done, but doing what actually nourishes you?
That’s the real question.
So often we’re moving through life saying yes to things that leave us drained, not because we want to, but because we’ve lost touch with what we actually need.
And here’s the truth:
You can’t speak up for a need you haven’t identified.
You can’t hold a boundary if you don’t know what you stand for.
Values. Needs. Boundaries. They’re all connected. Knowing them and living them is the foundation of an aligned, self-honouring life.

What do I need to do in order to get more love?
And what parts of myself do I need to hide to receive it?
For many of us, these questions were answered long ago
in childhood.
We learned that love came more easily
when we put others first,
when we made their needs more important than our own.
That survival strategy becomes a lifelong pattern.
We disconnect from ourselves
not out of failure,
but because we were never shown how to stay connected
and be loved at the same time.
The cost?
Self-prioritization feels selfish.
Self-love feels foreign.
But what if the template is outdated?
And what if coming home to ourselves
is the most loving thing we could ever do?

Self-love didn’t come naturally to me.
It was a foreign concept, something I’d heard about but never really lived.
That changed about 4.5 years ago after a breakup.
I stayed 9 months after it ended.
And when I finally started taking action for me;
balancing my books, buying new bedding, and meditating,
something shifted.
It wasn’t just self-care.
It was self-respect.
That chapter laid the foundation for the strength I have now.
These days, I’m up at 4am to go to the gym, not out of discipline,
but because I know what I need to feel steady.
And I trust myself enough to follow through.

The shadow is made of the parts of you that once felt unsafe to express, so you tucked them away.
Maybe someone told you that being loud, sensitive, assertive, or joyful wasn’t okay.

So you hid that part.
But your shadow never leaves you.
It shows up in your reactions, in your relationships, in the people who trigger you.
The beautiful truth?

Healing happens in relationships when we stop blaming and start getting curious.

What’s trying to return to you?

Ever wonder why certain people trigger you more than others?
Chances are, it’s not just about them. It's a reflection of your shadow, asking to be seen.

Ask yourself:
– When was the first time I felt this way?
– What part of my body is reacting?
– What am I judging in this other person?

Often, it traces back to a time when your voice, your truth, or your worth was invalidated. The frustration is real… and so is the invitation to heal.

a foundational approach to healing and personal growth

I believe, true lasting change comes from a foundational approach to healing and personal growth. I start the exploration from the ground up, by supporting clients to gain a unique understanding of the life experiences at the root of their present day challenges. My goal, is to create a safe place for you to share and learn about yourself. I will teach you about your nervous system, support you to connect with your attachment style, and relationship patterns. We will also work together to gain an understanding of your history. At the same time, we will design aligned actions that move you towards your goals and dreams. Human beings are hardwired for connection, yet our emotional trauma impacts our ability to experience safe and social connection. I will support you as we co-create a solid foundation and begin to integrate your core wounding and conditioning. The goal is to significantly change the relationship you have with yourself and the world. Reclaim Your Wholeness is a reflection of my personal journey of self discovery and transformation. It would be an honour to support you on your unique journey.
