Speaking up, especially if you've held your voice or held your words since childhood may cause an emotional response and be very difficult to do.
Finding your voice is a lot more about embodiment and nervous system regulation than the physical functionality of vocal expression.
And here's the thing, you deserve to speak, what you have to say matters, and you are important. ♥️

Many of us spend a lot of time trying not to listen, but the reality is that our body never lies to us.
When we can learn to gently tap in, ask what it needs, listen for the answers and lovingly follow through in its care the sooner we cultivate a loving relationship with ourselves that equates to deeper connection to others and the world around us. ♥️

The voice can be restricted from a myriad of things, from daily stress to 'capital T' trauma, from injury/illness to stuffing down the emotions and words that are meant to be spoken.
Shifting this state can be as simple as beginning to work the fascia in the neck and throat area releasing the vocal folds and allowing more vocal expression to occur through practices such as humming, singing or fascia release in the neck using a prop like a ball, or massaging with the hands.
