Hi Instagram friends...
As many of you know things are starting to get very busy again during the wedding season.
I am beyond grateful for the many weddings I have booked this year, I am always so incredibly honoured to be a small part of your big day.
Having said this, this is the first year doing weddings without my beloved soulmate by my side. I have been doing weddings for 14 years and Ryan was a big part of that journey for 7 of those years. We came up with the name Enhance Beauty together, he pushed me to get out of my crappy retail job and Pursue my dream. We would stay up late discussing our business goals, he taught me all about mail chimp, accounting, boundaries, and just so much of the business side I didn't know how to do. We were a power couple and I will never forget it.
Servicing beauty services all over Vancouver Island is not easy for me at this moment of time, though I love what I do and have worked incredibly hard for my Enhance Beauty name it is very tricky to be the same bubbly artist I used to be.
My point is this, and a reminder to everyone — just because we show up, work hard, and wear a smile doesn’t mean everything is okay. Things aren’t always as they seem.
Mental health is something I will continue to speak about, openly and honestly. I’ll keep using my voice and, if I have to, I’ll shout it from the rooftops.
Mental health is not a joke. It deserves to be taken seriously now more than ever. We lose over 800,000 people a year generally ages from 12-35.
If you or someone you know has mentioned anything on the lines of mental illness, even your happiest of friends. Please don't be afraid to check in or talk about it and never ever silence them.
May is the mental health month but I believe everyday this needs to be talked about.
