Jim and Maria's home is full of treasures and history. One of their most special items is their 100-year-old mantle clock, lovingly passed down through generations. "This clock was given to me by my aunt," shares Maria. "That aunt is the one who helped the family come to the United States from Italy."

Today, the clock sits proudly in their home at Atria Park of Vintage Hills, surrounded by mementos of their lives. Lined with family photos, their living room is a celebration of the generations of their loved ones, each photo holding a special memory.

It’s more than a home – it’s a place that shows who they are, what they treasure and the legacy they continue to share.

Crafting for a cause!

Atria Willow Glen hosted a "Totes for Tots Mart" featuring totes and other handcrafted goods made by a very talented resident, Joann. Shoppers found great gifts for friends and relatives, raising more than $400 for Toys for Tots.

Joann has been making crafts for 40 years and sold her creations at artisan fairs across Southern California for more than two decades. "It's a very nice feeling to make something that other people like and want to have or buy as a gift.”

“It feels great to give back," Joann adds. This is the second year she has donated 100% of the proceeds from the sale of her creations. Two years ago, she saw a commercial for Toys for Tots where a grandmother was waiting for her grandson to receive a gift from the organization. Joann was touched by the joy on both their faces. "I thought, 'I could do that!' I could contribute.”

Thank you to Joann and everyone who participated for bringing joy to children this holiday season!

Our neighbouring community of Ladysmith is known for the Holiday Celebration called the Festival of Lights. We loaded the bus and took our residents to have dinner at the Fox and Hound then drive the Ladysmith Community to see how beautiful they have lit up and decorated for the season. What a wonderful evening of enjoyment seeing the billions of coloured lights and the Bakery's Moving Gingerbread House that filled their window.
