Good Morning, It's still a little wet out to be sitting and meditating so no class today but I did want to leave you with an option/homework :)

Why a gentle rain walk can charge Your Qi (and why you should skip the thunderstorm)
Feeling cooped up. Is the rain bringing thoughts of wow my lawn looks great, but the overcast grey is starting to get repetitive. It might be time to flip the perspective and see the hidden health benefits of a walk in a rainfall has.
Here’s how Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and the modern practice of Forest Bathing line up on the subject:
TCM Take on Soft Rain
• Nourishes Yin & Lung Qi - Misty droplets moisten the Lungs; the organ system tied to immunity and emotional clarity in TCM.
• Dispels Mild “Wind-Heat”; cool drizzle helps release built-up internal heat and calm restless thoughts.
• Grounds the Shen (Spirit); the sound acts like rhythmic acupuncture for the mind, easing anxiety.
Forest Bathing Bonus
Aerosolized phytoncides (natural plant compounds) in damp air can lower cortisol and boost natural killer cell activity; modern science confirming what sages called “vital essence” in fresh woodland qi.
Combats overwhelm, the muted light & sound after rainfall dial down sensory overload, sharpening focus and creativity.
But What About Thunderstorms?
From a TCM lens, sudden bursts of Wind, Cold, and Damp, plus jarring thunder is thought to scatter Qi and provoke headaches or joint pain. Add the very real lightning risk, and the verdict is clear:
Gentle rain = healing ritual / Thunderstorm = time for tea indoors
Tips
• Wait for light, steady rain (no lightning alerts).
• Dress in breathable layers; keep neck & feet warm to guard against damp.
• Walk slowly, breathe through the nose, notice scents, colors, and sounds, this is your mini Shinrin yoku session.
• End with a towel dry and a quick rub of hands over face and a cup of warm ginger tea to seal in all the goodness.
