Meet Dominique Gravel, Registered Kinesiologist and Student of Osteopathy

Appointments available all day Mondays, and some Saturdays.

Dominique is registered Kinesiologist with the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK) and holds a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Sciences from Concordia University. Currently pursuing her studies at the Canadian School of Osteopathy, she hopes to blend kinesiology and osteopathic principles to offer a comprehensive, whole-body approach to health.

Her passion for movement stems from a diverse background, where she’s worked alongside Olympic and recreational athletes in high-performance clinics, supported children with disabilities and led community-based group exercise classes. But what truly drives Dominique is her mission to make movement accessible and empowering for everyone, regardless of background, ability, or fitness level. She believes that exercise should be inspiring, not intimidating, and creates personalized plans that help her clients build lasting confidence, prevent injuries, and experience pain-free movement.

Whether you’re an athlete, recovering from an injury, or seeking to improve overall function, Dominique focuses on evidence-based techniques to create an exercise plan that is personalized to meet your unique needs.

Looking to get into trail running with an awesome group of people?

Check out the Nelson Running Club, they have programs for all levels of runners!

Thursdays: Intro to Trail Running!
6:00 p.m., Mountain Station parking lot.

We'll do an easy-paced lap out-and-back on Racoon/Badger. Nothing steep or technical, this is a nice singletrack trail through the forest. If you're new to trails (or just getting back to it after a winter off), the Thursday runs will be a nice easy (re)introduction to running on dirt, roots, and rock.

It's a no drop run, so we'll stop at any intersections to pull the group together so you don't need to worry about getting left behind.

Trail shoes aren't absolutely required, but you'll have a better time if you've got something with some traction in the soles. Trail shoes also have better lateral stability to help protect ankles from wonky footing/slips on uneven terrain. (But if all you've got is a road shoe - it'll be ok for some of these initial shorter, flatter trails.)

Tonight will be around 5 km or so, and every Thursday after this we'll explore some of the easier/intro trails in town, at an easier/sociable pace. (Tuesdays and Sundays will start to get into slightly bigger/longer/technical trails, although still sociable and casual).

Looking to start bike season off strong? This program is for you!

We’re partnering up with Mike Kikals]] and to get you in the trails faster, stronger, and more resilient to injury.

‼️ Calling all action sports enthusiasts, hobbyists and weekend warriors looking to get better at their sport‼️

Let’s kickstart your riding season with a bang! 6 weeks of in-gym functional fitness classes designed to help you ride harder, faster and longer than ever before!

These classes will have you challenging your endurance, grip strength, stability, core strength and cardiovascular system with movements designed specifically to enhance your performance on the bike.

Do you feel fatigued when peddling up a trail? Do you struggle with arm pump? Getting tired easily majorly impacts your riding abilities and keeps you from being able to progress in your sport. Let’s work the muscle groups that you NEED in order to become a better rider.

Whether you’re just starting to take on the trails, or you’re an advanced rider stuck at a plateau, this class will cater to all abilities.

As a Personal Trainer at Maverick Strength, with a background in Motocross racing and Downhill Mountain Biking - Mike Kikals]] is excited to merge his passions together and bring this program to life in the Kootenays.

Classes will be held at Maverick Strength in Nelson. This 6 week program runs from April 4th - May 11th, on Tuesdays & Thursdays @ 4pm (if this time slot does not work for you, please reach out as he may have alternate options available, depending on interest level).

The program will be capped at 12 people, first come first serve.
