Herbal infused oils are one of our favourite ways to work with herbs. They are whole herb extracts (not just essential oils) and have been used for thousands of years in herbal traditions worldwide.

We have been making therapeutic herbal oils for nearly a decade and are so excited to share our medicine making techniques with you.

Join us July 7th, for a deep dive hands-on medicine making experience.

Our body holds memories and deep knowings, layers that our minds can’t always articulate with words, experiences that are woven into our tissues and nervous system.

After years of touching, tasting, observing and engaging with plants, they become a part of us. A memory and knowing we hold in our bodies. Experiencing the resinous scent of Poplar buds awakening with the Spring is a very different experience than reading about how smelling Poplar might make someone feel. Words cannot truly capture the tenderness of a fresh Rose tincture or the uplifting experience of tasting Lemon Balm.

These experiences are so rich with sensory information that we can access them in ways that book learning simply can’t offer. Engaging the senses enables our nervous system to tap into a way of learning about the world from a body centered place, rather than purely focusing on the cognitive experience.

This is why we encourage our students to taste, smell and touch herbs as they get to know them. To notice how each plant impacts their body, mind and spirit. This creates an embodied relationship between people and plants that is deep medicine in and of itself.

We have opened the doors for our third annual Herbal Medicine Club, an immersive program dedicated to creating connection and relationship with herbal medicines. This program is structured with embodied learning at the heart of it. Participants will be provided with a tincture of each plant explored during the course, allowing them to create a daily ritual of engaging with the medicine of the month.

Pairing personal connections with extensive teachings on each herb will leave participants confident about how to work with six local herbs by the end of the course, and empower them with the knowledge to continue learning about herbal medicine beyond our time together. All classes will be held via Zoom with replay available.

Early Bird registration is open until October 10th. Check out our website for more details: https://www.althaeaherbals.com/events

February was a big emotional month for many. I’m seeing this show up in my clinical practice strongly. For this reason for the rest of March I am offering a $30 discount on all Initial Consultations for those needing support in the mental/emotional realms of their person.

Herbs can be powerful supports for our mental/emotional spheres, helping us to relax tension, trust our bodies, and find our breath. Anxieties can be soothed, depression can be lifted. They are here to help.

Bring your whole person to clinic (digestive complaints, disturbed sleep patterns etc.), but know this offering is specific to those wanting to address the mental/emotional component of their health picture. Often when we begin to address our emotional patterns physical symptoms also begin to improve.

To book an appointment email marieelizabethherbals@gmail.com or call (250)857-4033

Be well sweet ones.
