Traumatic loss affects us differently than loss after someone dies of natural causes. That is why we take a special approach to these particular grief groups. Narrative therapy is a very healing and meaningful way of walking the path of traumatic grief.

There are a few spots left in this group starting next week. Please feel free to share with anyone you know who's experienced this kind of loss. Call 250-352-2337 or email info@nelsonhospice.org to register.

Our next grief group offering will focus on the particular grief that occurs after a traumatic death. Because this can be a difficult loss to navigate, it is important that there be dedicated space for survivors of traumatic death to share their stories in a safe and supported way.

This group will be facilitated by a very dedicated Nelson Hospice volunteer and narrative therapist Sarah Hughes and Jenna Seymour, one of her Masters students. We hope it will bring some healing to the many people who suffer loss after a death by su***de, homicide, accident or toxic drugs.

Please call 250-352-2337 or email jane@nelsonhospice.org to register.

A special shout out today to thank our title sponsor for Workathon for the last 10 years ... Nelson & District Credit Union. They have led the way to many other businesses sponsoring this event over the years, and especially in the teamwork required to make an event like this successful, consisting fielding the biggest teams on our Workathon day. They are pros when it comes to connections to the community at large and it shows in their employees' response to coming out on Workathon day.

Thanks NDCU!

Soooo many leaves fell overnight just in time for our Workathon clean up event tomorrow!

IT'S NOT TOO LATE to register as a workathon client and have your yard clean up completed by one of our wonderful workathon volunteer teams.

This event helps serve seniors or any one who cannot do their own yard work on this one day of the year. So, if you need help, call us at 250-352-2337 or email us at info@nelsonhospice.org.

Leave us your name, your address, your phone number and what you want done (leaf raking, mulching, weeding, etc.). Note that we can DEFINITELY take away your leaves but we cannot take away any yard waste that doesn't fit into our leaf bags.
