I am so thrilled to introduce, Adriane Elliott, RMT. She will be joining The Nest and covering my upcoming maternity leave.

Adriane has appointments available starting in February! Be sure to check out our online booking site to see her full bio and appointment availability. Appletreeorchard.janeapp.com

I can personally attest to Adriane’s work as I’ve been seeing her throughout my pregnancy. She is incredibly talented, knowledgeable and present. I feel so held by her at every visit. To put simply, she gives a really great massage!!

Her treatments balance deep tissue, myofascial release, and detailed therapeutic massage that assist her clients in obtaining an ease in movement, and a grounded and cantered connection to self in support of thriving life.

She is a clinical aromatherapist and has studied extensively to support clients during the perinatal time reflected in both her massage and aromatherapy practice.

She has recently completed an extensive year long training with midwife, Rachel Seliga, and is in continual mentorship studying advanced postpartum care.

I will be posting her full bio on my website soon. You can also find her full bio on our online booking site.

Welcome , Adriane! I am so grateful to have you.

WHY is infant bodywork important when babes have tight oral tissues, when feeding challenges present due to other tension in your infant’s body, or after tongue tie revision?

Because everything is connected! This photo shows how the tongue can be influenced by our muscles of breathing (diaphragm) , muscles of the hips (psoas, hip flexor muscle) right down through your inner thighs to the toes through our fascia (connective tissue).

This photo is taken from Tom Meyers anatomy book - Anatomy Trains.

When I work on babies I treat the WHOLE body. Because it’s often (almost never) just one part of the body causing problems.

Example: A compressed hip in the womb could cause tension in the psoas muscle & therefore would affect the diaphragm too through the fascial connection. This tension would then likely cause tightness in the neck and tongue muscles which could affect your baby’s ability to get a good, deep latch.
(Try to drink through a straw with your head tilted down and to one side - it doesn’t work very well!)

Each baby is unique! Which is why a thorough assessment and individualized treatment is important. 🐣

Lovely words from a lovely human.

Reviews mean the world to me, especially ones like these. It warms my heart and always helps to give a little boost to my passion in this space!

And feedback is incredibly important as a practitioner!

Thank you, JG, for the kind words!!!

Thank you to everyone who supported me at The Nest this year!

It truly means the world to meet people in my work space on parallel journeys through parenthood. It’s the deepest honour to see you through pregnancy, postpartum, and to meet your little ones on the other side - or anywhere along the way, lymphatic care and other! I am constantly humbled and amazed to see the transformation that takes place during the perinatal years and beyond. This work is what I’ve dreamed of and feel so grateful to be able to pursue as my passion.

A new moon brings new beginnings, as does the new year for many.

This new moon and new year I hope to stay with my practice and passion in ways that I can, even as I move through the changes new motherhood brings yet again.

Thank you, again, for choosing The Nest. It truly means the world to me.

Changes at The Nest are coming this year! Stay tuned for more!
