Our Story
Bring flow back into you body and your life with a Shiatsu massage. Paul has been practicing the incredibly effective style of Shiatsu for 7 years. His goal is open blockages and tense areas, and to revitalize the body, allowing it to function with ease and without pain. Shiatsu can bring a sense of great relaxation, flow, and revitalization as Chi distribution throughout the body is balanced and released to flow in the most healthy way. During a Shiatsu massage the client is fully clothed. Most of the work is done on a very comfortable mat on the floor, or in a chair. Shiatsu is quite meditative and involves many different elements such as: acupressure, stretching, active release, deep breathing, rocking, and more. Full sessions are 1.5 to 2 hours in length and shorter sessions to address specific issues are possible as well. Shiatsu originated in Japan. It's principles are rooted in the traditions of oriental medicine, using similar energy channels and points as in acupuncture. Generally, the practitioner works on the whole body to help energy flow freely through the whole system, to stimulate the body's own innate ability to rebalance and heal itself. During the treatment this is usually experienced as a sense of deep relaxation. At the end of the session will be a short period of rest, in order for the work of the session to be fully assimilated. You may be given a recommendation or shown an exercise to continue at home, supporting the process to restore and maintain health.
