Measles & Breastfeeding: What You Need to Know

With rising concern around measles (rubeola), many breastfeeding parents are asking important questions. Here's what you should know:
🦠 Measles spreads through the air not through human milk.
If you’ve had measles or the MMR vaccine, your milk contains protective antibodies that help shield your baby.

💛 Breastfeeding offers passive immunity and may reduce the severity of illness in infants. Continuing to nurse, safely, is encouraged.

😷 If you’re breastfeeding and have measles:
✔️ Wear a well-fitted N95, KF94, or FFP2 mask
✔️ Wash your hands before touching your baby
✔️ Some families choose to pump and feed expressed milk

The MMR vaccine is safe for breastfeeding parents, and two doses provide the best protection.

(Care is available Days, evenings, and overnight)

•Care for baby (including bathing, soothing, feeding, baby wearing, walks, tummy time,etc)
•Light Housekeeping (light cleaning, dishes, laundry, organizing and tidying)
•Meal Prep
•Breastfeeding Support (latch support, pump education and support, feeding positions, education, cleaning and sterilizing of breast pump accessories and bottles)
•Support with postpartum healing
•Care for other children/siblings in the household
•Full care of baby so you and your family can rest, participate in self care, attend an appointment, errands etc.
•Unconditional and Nonjudgmental physical and emotional support to you and your family

As for pricing, I do run by hourly rate or we can discuss a “package” that best suits your family’s needs. I am very flexible and understanding, I can provide payment plans!

"If breastfeeding hurts, you’re doing it wrong.” ❌

Let’s clear this up:
Discomfort in the early days is common, but pain is a sign that something needs attention. Not that you’re failing.

Breastfeeding should not be something you have to “push through” in pain. There may be simple tweaks or support that can make all the difference, like adjusting positioning, checking latch, or getting help from an LLLC Leader.
