Kind Minds OT would like to welcome Catarina to the team!

Catarina Labrecque graduated from Capilano University in 2011 with a diploma as a Rehabilitation Assistant (OTA/PTA/SLPA). Since then, she has gained extensive experience working in various settings, including acute care and private practice within the community.

Catarina has nurtured a strong passion for neurology and the brain since her time at Capilano. Early in her career, she focused on stroke and brain injury rehabilitation, later expanding her
expertise to neurodiversity, autism, and sensory processing and regulation.

As a member of the Kind Minds team, Catarina embraces a client-centered, collaborative, and evidence-based approach to care. She is deeply committed to continuing education, staying
updated with evolving practices to best serve her clients and community. Additionally, she is a vocal advocate for neurodiversity-affirming care, emphasizing its importance as a standard across home, school, and workplace environments.

Catarina’s goal at Kind Minds is to empower her clients and their families to live life boldly and unapologetically. She firmly believes everyone deserves the support needed not just to survive but to truly thrive in their daily lives.

Welcome Catarina!

Welcome to Kind Minds Occupational Therapy!

I’m Lisa, and I am so excited to provide occupational therapy services to my hometown New Glasgow, and surrounding areas.

I have nine years of experience working with children and adults, supporting complex behaviour, ADHD, Autism, trauma, sensory difficulties and more. With extensive knowledge in trauma-informed care, sensory processing and self-regulation, I take a client-centered and holistic approach to support individuals to feel safe and comfortable in their body and environment.

Occupational therapy can also support and target areas such as self-care, mental health, emotional regulation, executive functioning, return to work, aging in place and so much more.

Please reach out if you have any questions, or are unsure if occupational therapy is right for you!
