The Great Northern Family Health Team offers the Adult Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) vaccine to help keep you safe and healthy.

Eligibility:
All adults aged 75 and older are eligible for the publicly funded RSV vaccine, in addition to high-risk older adults aged 60–74 who are also:
- residents of long-term care homes, Elder Care Lodges, or retirement homes including similar settings (such as co-located facilities)
- patients in hospital receiving alternate level of care (ALC) including similar settings (for example, complex continuing care, hospital transitional programs)
- patients with glomerulonephritis (GN) who are moderately to severely immunocompromised
- patients receiving hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis
- recipients of solid organ or hematopoietic stem cell transplants
- individuals who are homeless
- individuals who identify as First Nations, Inuit, or Métis

With the support of the Timiskaming Ontario Health Team / Équipe Santé Ontario Timiskaming, the Great Northern Family Health Team has introduced a cutting-edge AI Scribe solution – Tali!

Tali helps streamline the transcription of medical notes during appointments, making documentation faster and more efficient. That means more time for what matters most – direct patient care.

We're proud to be embracing innovation to improve the care experience for our patients and providers alike!

With support from the Timiskaming Ontario Health Team, local providers are using AI Scribe - a digital tool that uses speech-to-text and artificial intelligence to create clinical notes from conversations during patient visits. 📝

Ashley Bain, local Respiratory Therapist with Great Northern and Temagami Family Health Team, shared her thoughts on this technology:

“It really has been such a useful tool. AI Scribe allows me to sit face to face with my patients and truly listen to everything that they are telling me. I am not distracted by having to document myself during the appointment. It also reduces the amount of administrative time that is required after patient visits; this means more time can be spent on direct patient care.”

Supporting tools like AI Scribe is one of the many ways the Timiskaming OHT is working alongside local providers to improve how care is delivered in our region.

Avec le soutien de l’Équipe Santé Ontario du Timiskaming (ESOT), les fournisseurs locaux utilisent le transcripteur par IA, un outil numérique qui transforme la voix en texte et utilise l’intelligence artificielle pour créer des notes cliniques à partir des conversations tenues dans le cadre des visites avec les patients.

Ashley Bain, thérapeute respiratoire locale au service de la Great Northern and Temagami Family Health Team, a récemment partagé ce qu’elle pense de cette technologie :

« Cet outil s’est révélé vraiment utile. Le transcripteur par IA me permet de m’asseoir avec mes patients et de véritablement écouter tout ce qu’ils ont à me dire. Je ne suis pas distraite par le besoin de tout documenter durant mon rendez-vous. Cet outil réduit également le temps que je dois consacrer aux formalités administratives après mes visites avec les patients. Cela signifie que je passe plus de temps à prodiguer directement des soins à mes patients. »

Appuyer le recours aux outils comme le transcripteur par IA compte parmi les nombreuses façons dont l’Équipe Santé Ontario du Timiskaming collabore avec les fournisseurs de soins locaux en vue d’améliorer la manière dont les soins sont livrés dans notre région.
