Temiskaming Hospital Receives Highest Accreditation Standing
New Liskeard, Ont.: Temiskaming Hospital has achieved Accreditation with Exemplary Standing under the Qmentum accreditation program by Accreditation Canada—marking the highest possible rating a Canadian hospital can receive for quality and safety in healthcare.
The hospital underwent a four-day accreditation audit from June 2-5. Qmentum standards are developed by the Health Standards Organization and endorsed by the Standards Council of Canada, focusing on evidence-informed practices to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.
“This is a remarkable accomplishment,” said Temiskaming Hospital President & CEO Mike Baker. “This is the fourth audit in a row where Temiskaming Hospital has earned the highest rating possible, “Accreditation with Exemplary Standing”. I am very proud of our team for their exceptional dedication and commitment to patient-centered care.”
Temiskaming Hospital was evaluated on 1,704 quality dimensions, meeting 99% of the standards criteria. Notably, the hospital achieved 100% compliance with all 203 compliance test for Required Organizational Practices—essential criteria that ensure the highest level of patient care.

The “Exemplary” designation reassures our community that they are receiving top-tier care based on standards across Canada, right here in South Temiskaming.”

Temiskaming Hospital previously received the same exemplary standing during its last three accreditation reviews in 2012, 2016 & 2021; making this the fourth consecutive exemplary standing designation.
