Update- We made this post to clarify concern and speculation circulating on some local social media pages. We apologize if this came across as an abrupt announcement. Our staff have been individually reaching out over recent weeks to those affected to help facilitate a smooth transition.

Unfortunately, some of our providers need to reduce their practice size. To keep things fair, a third party from Nova Scotia Health is generating a randomized list of names.

We are fortunate to have new providers in the area to whom our patients will be transferred, along with their medical chart, to minimize any disruption in care. If your name comes up for transfer, you will be contacted by our staff with instructions on how to connect with your new primary care provider.

Please know that we value the trust our patients have in us and do not take this step lightly.

The Province of Nova Scotia has recently announced that Nova Scotians now have a free tool that provides a step-by-step process for creating a power of attorney. The app was developed in partnership with the Legal Information Society of Nova Scotia and enables individuals to create a legally valid power of attorney, allowing them to designate a trusted person to manage their finances and property if they become unable to do so themselves.

New from public health: Nova Scotia now provides meningitis B vaccine to youth less than 26 years of age with a Nova Scotia health card who are:

• entering into post-secondary studies and will be living for the first time in a residence/dormitory.
• living for the first time in a youth-based congregate living setting* (i.e., Nova Scotia Youth Centre, youth community residential setting, or long-term youth shelter).
• first time Nova Scotian military recruits less than 26 years of age who will be living within a military congregate living setting* (i.e., military barrack).

This program provides adult survivors of sexual assault access to 2 hours of free legal advice about their sexual assault from a pre-approved lawyer.
During the session, the lawyer will help you figure out your legal options, like deciding if you want to report to the police. After you meet with the lawyer, you may choose not to take any legal action

The Legal Advice for Sexual Assault Survivors program provides 2 hours of free legal advice. Participants do not have to report to police or take legal action if they use this service.
