REMINDER FOR OUR OXYGEN THERAPY PATIENTS:
We're halfway through hurricane season. It's very important to make sure you're ready if a storm comes our way.
Here are some important ways you can prepare:
1- Check your backup oxygen tank to make sure it is full.
2- If you have a generator to use in the event of a power outage, make sure it is in working order and that you have gas to run it.
3- Keep our phone number (Family 1st Medical: 1-800-565-2021) close by so you can call us when your power goes out. If you need assistance to call us, please ensure you have a neighbour or friend lined up to help you. It is very important to let us know as soon as your power goes out so we can continue to effectively manage your care.
Everyone should make sure they have:
1- A personal support network set up - at least 3 people you know and trust who could help you during an emergency.
2- Enough supplies to be self-sufficient for at least 72 hours. These supplies should include water, non-perishable foods, a manual can opener, extra batteries, a first aid kit, personal hygiene items, and a power bank/portable charger for your phone.
3- A minimum of a week’s supply of prescription medications
