For many years as a physiotherapist, I treated movement/mobility problems with folks by thinking "mechanically"--"what is limited the movement?" Pain? "Let us help the joint(s) feel better, to move better!" Weak? "Let us use exercises to strengthen the weak muscles, and stretch the tight muscles!" NOW, I confess, I am able to help folks deal with all of the above by knowing that "YOUR BRAIN MUST FEEL SAFE BEFORE IT GETS YOUR MUSCLES TO MOVE!!!"
