Not an easy case! Previous non-invasive treatments (filler & thread lifts done out of country) made the dissection more difficult and crunchy (another reason surgeons dislike threads lifts…in her case they had calcified and the beautiful tissue planes did not exist). In any event, at 6 weeks post-op her jawline looks sculpted, lip lift scar is healing beautifully, and there is improved overall balance to her face. As an aside, she is one of the nicest patients a surgeon could have in their practice. I’m grateful she trusted me to do what I love…meticulous facial surgery.

After many years, this patient ruptured her left saline implant and simply decided she didn’t want her implants any longer. She enjoyed them for years, but was ready to be implant free.

But seriously, I am flattered to be selected for this list!! The Best of Vancouver is one of the City’s online review sites, and they randomly emailed me to let me know I was selected as one of their top ranked plastic & aesthetic surgeons! As the first and only surgeon on here technically based just outside Vancouver, I’m even more honored they felt I should be included.

I suspect I was chosen because everyday at work (even most evenings and weekends), I work hard for my patients to optimize their experience and outcomes. It’s a lot to sustain, but it’s something I enjoy and am passionate about…always pushing myself to improve. 99% of the time, I get along great with my patients at our first appointment and onwards (with VERY few exceptions). Outcomes wise, I take a similar approach to training in sports or my university grades. In surgery, I strive for the best outcome because I want nothing more than to celebrate an excellent outcome together with my patients💯.

Happy Friday everyone! Feeling a bit flattered I had patients come in from Alberta and Saskatchewan for face/neck consults today. So satisfying to contour the neck…I just love it 💯💯. Being in Saint Louis recently, I decided to wear my old WashU jacket today. I spent a year there for my clinical fellowship working with a group of world-class plastic surgeons. I popped in to say hi to them last week but unfortunately they were all away at a conference. Anyway, have a great weekend everyone…I’m looking forward to coaching soccer this weekend 😀⚽️.

Day 2…main focus today was deep neck contouring with tips on safety and trying to perfect the deep neck contour. What a great opportunity to learn directly from master surgeon both in the lecture hall and also directly in the cadaver lab where we were able to go through dissections together. In surgery, slight changes in patient positioning, setup, technique, surgical assist (and so on) can make a big difference in the flow of the case and also the outcome. I came to this course with very specific aspects of face and neck lift surgery that I wanted to refine. Next year, there will be more refining and more questions. The goal is to make every case better than the last 👌. Nice seeing from .

Amazing change for this young patient. A simple operation performed under local anesthetic in the office with essentially no pain. 4 months later, looking absolutely refreshed with a sharp eyelid crease 👌.

Amazing eyelid transformation 🤩🥳. Did you know even young patients can sometimes benefit from eyelid rejuvenation? Evidence above 😉.
Her lower eyelids: incision hidden on the inside of the lid, zero skin excision, and fat grafting done below the lower eyelid to blend the lid cheek junction👌. For the record, lower eyelids are much more challenging to get right vs upper eyelids. For her uppers I removed skin and took out a small amount of fat just near the nose to make them look slightly less heavy in that area. Looking rested and rejuvenated ☺️
