Meet the new additions to Life Quality Supports 🩵 The Tran Family 🩵.

We were already implementing our "Life Laughter Plan" after creating Don’s goals/transformation list 🩵.

That's what we do at Life Quality Supports - we take "Action" and remove limitations through the power of love, entering the individual's world, structure and discipline 🩵.

He expressed:

“I am excited for my empowerment journey and I want to show the world how to overcome physical and mental limitations from my life-changing stroke I had at 19 years old and my mental health diagnosis, get a job and make my left side of my body stronger and more cohesive cognitively" ❤️.

The future has no limits for this young man! Let's get to work ❤️.

Today is World Mental Health Day 💚🌍

Mental health matters — every day, for everyone.

At Life Quality Supports, we pride ourselves on our "words to action" approach, which is designed to support individuals with various mental health diagnoses, parents, and families.
Our ultimate goal is to empower these individuals to feel emotionally regulated, to experience a sense of freedom from emotional turmoil, and to cultivate self-love, self-worth, self-esteem, self-acceptance, and self-care.
We also strive to promote independence, fulfillment, and empowerment along the beautiful winding road journey of life.

Today, we are reminded of the importance of putting our words into action, accompanied by compassion, connection, empathy, vulnerability, intimacy, safety, and understanding.

Whether it's taking a moment for yourself to apply PBRA (pause, breathe, reflect, and act), journaling, reaching out to someone who might be struggling, or starting an open conversation, every small action counts.

Society often teaches us that vulnerability is a weakness and that as long as we appear fine on the outside, no one will need to know about our internal mental health struggles and how we don't have to bother them with our problems.
However, the true reality is that vulnerability is a gift, and letting people in by sharing our struggles can provide true freedom from what is weighing our mind and body down.

You never truly know what someone is going through, so it's essential to provide loving, selfless support without expecting anything in return and applying action to those suggestions.

Let's work together to break the stigma surrounding mental health and create communities where it's “NORMALIZED” to discuss mental health and seek help when needed.

Remember, expressing your thoughts won't harm you; it might just save your life.

As I always say:

“Bless the emotion, Release the emotion."

Take care of your mind like you do your body. Check in on your friends, family, and colleagues. You're not alone; help and hope are always within reach. Sometimes, all it takes is a leap of faith over fear to find freedom.

If you're looking for strategies to take care of your mental health each day, feel free to email me at reecepicard@lifequalitysupport.com, and let's work together to develop solution-based mindsets.

Reflecting on my 6-year fitness, nutrition, and 60-pound weight loss journey, which began with a herniated disc injury, I have identified three key takeaways that I would impart to my past self to foster a more transformative and sustainable approach to wellness:

1. Be honest with your "WHY"!

Cultivate a profound understanding of your motivations, allowing it to guide your journey rather than your ego. Avoid adhering to social media's ideologies, algorithms, and perceptions of beauty. Doing so may lead to feelings of incompleteness, even upon achieving your fitness and nutrition goals, and result in an "external-based lifestyle" rather than an "internal healthy lifestyle". Recognize that your self-love, self-worth, and self-esteem should never be contingent upon your appearance. Through my own experiences, I have gained freedom from these epiphanies, focusing on longevity rather than appearance, which has been instrumental in rewiring my thought process.

2. Don’t MISS OUT on life!

Acknowledge that fitness and nutrition should enhance, rather than detract from, your life. Having an optimal plan in place may expedite your progress, but consider the potential costs. Prioritize rest and self-care when necessary, and be gentle with yourself. Rushing through your journey may lead to mental, emotional, and physical exhaustion, causing you to miss out on valuable experiences, relationships, and memories.

3. Give yourself GRACE!

Recognize that life's unpredictable nature may necessitate adjustments to your plans. When faced with setbacks or challenges, modify your approach as needed, and focus on learning from your mistakes. Rather than self-criticism, cultivate a growth mindset, and practice self-compassion. Acknowledge that setbacks are an inherent part of the journey, and that you are not a robot.

Through my experiences, I have come to realize that mistakes can serve as invaluable opportunities for growth, transforming my mindset from "self-pity" to "gratitude". This journey has not only been transformative but has also enabled me to become a more effective personal trainer and nutritionist, helping clients develop a healthy "WHY" and fostering their self-love, self-worth, independence, fulfillment, and empowerment.

I hope these insights will inspire you to approach your journey with patience, humility, self-awareness, and a commitment to lasting, positive change.

If what I shared resonated with you and are wanting to take that next big step in your health and wellness journey feel free to contact me and let's get to work!

Life Quality Supports 9 Tools for developing “Emotional Intelligence”.

Mental toughness isn’t about being fearless. It’s about mastering habits most people avoid.

Here’s the hard truth:
Most people fail not because of external challenges, but because they avoid doing what’s uncomfortable.

These are the habits you need to master:

1. Enjoy Being Alone 🙆‍♀️🙆‍♂️

Solitude brings clarity, organization, confidence, and understanding of oneself. More creative opportunities arise when you plant seeds in your brain for hopes, dreams, goals, visions, and ideas. Spend 1 hour per day alone, with no distractions, by turning off all screens and practicing mindfulness through journaling, meditating, reading, or going for a walk.

2. Celebrate Others’ Wins 👏😅🥳❤️

Strong people lift others and teach them how to be the best versions of themselves. Studies show that celebrating and congratulating others' successes, providing loving words of encouragement and reassurance, develops a healthy hit of dopamine and self-esteem in the other person.

3. Prioritize Health 🏋️‍♂️🤸‍♂️🧠🫀🍎🥑🦴

Physical vitality fuels mental resilience. After exercise, the brain is prone to breaking old unhealthy patterns and creating decision-making skills. Commit to at least 1 physical health activity each day and track your progress.

4. Welcome Change (The Toughest Test)💪🤩🌿🌞🌙

Change is paralyzing for most because it requires embracing something new, which is uncomfortable. However, when you apply faith over fear, you see the benefits gained over time by making this a habit, and your brain's wiring shifts, moving past limitations. Mentally strong people see discomfort as growth. Next time discomfort strikes, take one step forward.

5. Focus on the Present Moment 🧘‍♂️🧘‍♀️😌⭐️💥

Staying present sharpens focus and creates a discipline-based mindset. Make people happier through acts of selfless, loving service, and expect nothing in return. Practice box breathing when your mind wanders.

6. Show Kindness to Themselves ❤️😇🙏👼

Self-compassion and positive self-talk, applied through positive affirmations, build resilience. Successful individuals turn mistakes into motivation. Reframe one recent mistake into a lesson by finding the beauty in the mess.

7. Set Clear Boundaries 💪🫡🫶🙌

Protecting your energy creates clarity and calmness in your mental health. The power of "no" while being kind and respectful when applying that boundary creates newfound freedom from people-pleasing. Practice saying "no" a couple of times a week, verbally or subconsciously, to another person or to yourself.

8. Keep Learning 🧠💻📚

Growth is a daily practice. Learning something new enhances neuroplasticity and develops the art of humility. Spend 10 minutes on a new topic each day.

9. Build Supportive Relationships 🙏🖐❤️👬👭

Positive connections fuel resilience. Limit time with toxic people. Thank someone who inspires you each day.

Mental strength isn’t about being perfect. It’s about small, intentional choices that compound into something extraordinary. Emotional Intelligence isn’t taught; it’s practiced.

Are you looking to get started with applying "words to action" with these steps?

I am beyond proud of this Life Quality Supports Client!

This client and I have been collaborating diligently over the past two and a half years on his fitness and weight loss journey.
I greatly admire his decision to take the initial leap of faith with me, expressing his desire to obtain a healthier lifestyle, “6 Pack Abs,” and gain lean muscles when we first met at Rock for Autism.
His demonstration of humility, mental awareness, effective communication, and a faith over fear mindset has been truly inspiring to me.

By leveraging these characteristics and incorporating our Life Quality Supports strategies, including the "Life Base Plan", "Life Laughter Plan", "Life Fitness Plan", and "Love-Based Accountability", as well as our core values of "Person, Uniqueness, Clear Communication, and Hope", Teaghan has successfully lost 25 pounds and admires how much lean muscle he has put on his body when he looks at himself in the mirror each morning!

Throughout this journey, he has gained significant enhancements in self-esteem, self-love, self-worth, mind over matter, discipline, positive self-talk, fulfillment, independence in his workouts, empowerment, and physical body awareness from his training with me and in his unexpected life-changing gall bladder surgery he had this past April where he lost 11 pounds on a low-fat diet.

These accomplishments have empowered him to share his knowledge and experience with children, promoting fitness and body awareness in his job!

This is the essence of our work: achieving goals, developing quality relationships, developing discipline, and becoming mentally, emotionally, and physically stronger versions of ourselves.
We maintain our progress by sharing our fulfillment/empowerment-based experiences and insights with others through the power of coaching and teaching!
We can only keep what we have by giving it away!

Life Quality Supports tools to develop “Self-Kindness”

Sometimes, the most challenging individuals we encounter in life are “ourselves”.

Life can become overwhelmingly busy and difficult at times, but when did we decide that being harsh on ourselves, comparing ourselves to others, worrying about what other people think of us, and pushing our mental and emotional well-being to the maximum equals productivity?

The truth is, being overly critical of oneself does not lead to improvement—it leads to burnout.

Here’s what actually fosters resilience:

✅ Self-compassion ☺️

✅ Taking time for yourself to slow down and rest when needed 😴

✅ Developing self-efficacy by organizing your monthly, weekly, and daily goals/self-care checklists (with dates) 💪

✅ Embracing change, recognizing that it is inevitable, and learning to adapt to new circumstances while finding the beauty in the situation 🙏🏻

✅ Speaking to yourself as you would to a friend or loved one to remind yourself of your strengths, abilities and positive character traits.

Try these small mental shifts:

1. Check your self-talk 🧠
Would you say that to someone you love?

2. Accept that it’s okay to have bad days/moments 🙏
Off days/moments are human, not failures.

3. Share how you feel 💞
Vulnerability strengthens trust.

4. Celebrate tiny wins 🥳
They add up more than you think.

5. Rest is productive too 😴
Your brain needs a break.

Little self-talk reminders:

“I am enough. It’s okay to have bad days. Don’t believe everything you think. I am loved. I am confident. I will follow my heart. I am fearless. I am confident. I will write a gratitude and positive affirmations list. I will stop and smell the roses to reflect on my accomplishments. I will be kinder to myself.”

Give those a try and create ones that work for yourself! It’s a valuable exercise! 🙏

Being overly critical of oneself does not foster growth. Instead, kindness does! ☺️

Your mind matters, and it is the most powerful tool you possess, so treat it well. 🧠❤️

Life Quality Supports “Understanding Emotional Regulation”

Emotional regulation refers to the ability to recognize, manage, and respond to emotional experiences in a healthy and constructive manner. It is not about suppressing feelings; rather, it involves navigating them. For individuals new to this concept, it often commences with noticing emotions as they arise and learning to pause before reacting using our “PBRA” pause, breathe, reflect and act strategy. Our Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) platforms offer structured tools to support this growth.

DBT: Riding the Emotional Waves
Dialectical Behavior Therapy is recognized for its effective techniques designed to promote emotional regulation. One core DBT skill is "TIPP":

“Temperature” (utilizing cold water or ice to reduce intense emotion)
“Intense” exercise
“Paced” breathing
“Progressive” muscle relaxation

These rapid-acting strategies can assist individuals in physically shifting out of emotional overwhelm.

CBT: Reframing the Mind’s Lens
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy takes a thought-focused approach, centering on how thoughts influence feelings and how shifting thoughts can regulate emotions. A classic CBT method is the thought record, which involves writing down a troubling situation, the automatic thoughts it sparks, and evaluating evidence for and against those thoughts. Imagine an individual panicking over a presentation, thinking, “Everyone will laugh at me.” A CBT approach would challenge that thought with: “I have prepared well, and most people are too focused on their tasks to judge harshly.” This process promotes emotional steadiness through rational reflection.

Integrating Skills into Daily Life
Emotional regulation becomes more effective when woven into everyday habits. DBT's Wise Mind skill teaches individuals to balance their emotional responses with logical thinking to achieve a grounded perspective. CBT encourages frequent self-checks on thought patterns, especially in stressful moments. Whether it is deep breathing before a tough conversation or journaling after a challenging day, these micro-skills lead to macro change. Over time, they reduce emotional reactivity and increase resilience.

Growing Through Emotional Mastery
Learning to regulate emotions is not a one-size-fits-all journey. DBT emphasizes validation, acknowledging that emotions make sense given an individual’s experience, while CBT offers tools to challenge unhelpful thinking and build confidence. Both therapies share a common goal: to assist individuals in navigating life’s challenges without being overwhelmed by emotional turmoil. Whether you are just starting or seeking to deepen your emotional toolkit, these practices can open doors to stability, self-awareness, and peace.

How to “REBUILD” Your Self-Esteem!

for Overcoming Negative Self-Talk!

When your inner critic persists, it can be challenging to regain confidence.

The question remains: how can you rebuild your self-esteem when negative self-talk dominates your thoughts?

The loudness of that negative self-talk is not necessarily a reflection of its validity but rather its familiarity. To shift this mindset, consider the following strategies:

1. Identify the “source” of the negativity. 🧠

That harsh voice likely originated early in life. Reflect on whose voice it resembles and what it's telling you. Naming the source can help you detach from it.

2. Practice “compassionate” self-talk. 🙏

Imagine offering support to a friend facing similar challenges. Adopt that same tone and language when addressing yourself.

3. Transition from earning your self-worth to “honouring” it. 💪

Your self-worth is inherent and not something to be earned.
Cease striving to prove your deservingness of kindness and instead offer it to yourself. This mindset shift is where genuine healing begins.

Rebuilding self-esteem is not about achieving perfection; it's about cultivating grace, kindness, and positive self-talk.

With patience, you'll discover a softer, wiser, and more supportive inner voice.

This voice will remind you that you matter, just as you are, and that you're capable of building the life you truly desire and deserve.

I greatly appreciate the opportunity to participate in and provide training to my Bashbrother during our weekly workout sessions.

He successfully achieved his objective of burning 700 calories, exceeding it by reaching 707, and established new personal records for core, chest, shoulders, mobility strengthening exercises and getting I tune with his different breath work exercises during his high intensity and low intensity movements on a deeper level!

Maintaining a balance of structure, goal-oriented vision, spiritual discipline, humour, and accountability is crucial for continuous progress, but the most critical characteristic necessary for sustained growth is “unconditional love”.

Keep up the excellent work, Bashbrother.

I am grateful for the dynamic of our brother/coach relationship and proud to witness your remarkable progress and enthusiasm towards fitness.

Thank you for helping give me passion and purpose when I wake up each morning, inspiring me, being a foundational piece of my business Life Quality Supports, but most of all, thank you for being the priceless gift as my older brother and suiting up and showing up for me in the ways that work best through your “lenses”!

I Love You, Bashbrother ❤️🙏
