We have drawn a winner for our International Self Care Day giveaway! Congratulations to Paula!

When we asked what self care means to her, Paula said "it means inner freedom."

To close this month focused on self care, we thank everyone who participated in this giveaway, and who shared with us what self care means to them. We encourage everyone to continue to take the time to focus on their self care throughout the rest of the year, and please reach out to our Community + Programs Coordinator at lauryn@emotionsbc.ca if you are seeking some support.

🌿 Registration is now open for our Fall Essential Skills Program! 🌿

This six-week online program is designed for families and caregivers who have a loved one facing mental health challenges. Whether you're a parent, partner, sibling, or friend, you're not alone, and there are practical tools that can help.

Led by trained peer facilitators with lived experience, this program introduces evidence-based skills like empathy, perspective, and boundaries to help improve communication, reduce conflict, and strengthen connection. Our peer led approach also allows participants to receive validation for their experiences, and be amongst others who "get it."

Two options are available:
• Tuesdays, Sept 16 – Oct 21
• Wednesdays, Sept 24 – Oct 29
Time: 6:30–8:30 PM PST via Zoom
$25 no-show deposit will be requested upon registration (eligible for refund upon full attendance)

Spots are limited and often fill quickly—register today here: https://emotionsbc.ca/essential-skills-program/

We are extremely grateful to First West Foundation through the Financial Community Endowment for their incredible partnership and support of EmotionsBC’s mission to improve the emotional health and wellness for families and their loved ones who are struggling with mental health challenges and/or illness.

By helping to support these two programs - our Essential Skills and Mindfulness Programs this year - we’ll be able to impact over 1,000 people in communities across BC.

Increasing the emotional capacity for these families through community connection, skills and hope is what we ultimately strive for and what our volunteer facilitators with lived and living experience do best!

Thank you again, First West Foundation and Envision Financial, for believing in the work we are doing across BC communities.
