Sport physiotherapy is one of our specialties at Royal City Physio — and it goes beyond treating injuries. Our sport physio assessments focus on how you move, train, and load your body, using strength testing, movement analysis, and sport-specific demands to guide rehab and return to sport.

During sport rehabilitation, our physios help athletes progress from foundational movement and strength patterns to sport-specific skills that reflect the real demands of their sport. Programs are tailored to the athlete and often completed in their own sport environment — on the field, court, or ice — beginning with individual drills and gradually progressing toward team integration and higher-contact work.

For higher-level athletes or rehab requiring further progression, we also offer a referral option to On-Field Sport Rehabilitation. These 60–90 minute sessions take place in your sport environment and integrate fitness, strength, footwork, and core optimization to bridge the gap between clinic-based rehab and competitive sport.

While sport physiotherapy is a major focus for us, it’s not all we do. We welcome seniors, kids, parents, desk workers, and everyone in between. Whether your goal is returning to sport, staying active, or simply moving better day to day — you’re in the right place.

There are a lot of misconceptions about physiotherapy.

We asked our physiotherapists what they hear most often — from “PT’s only treat athletes” to “I need imaging before I can start.” Watch the reel to hear our staff’s thoughts 👆.

Have you tried Shockwave Therapy?

Shockwave Therapy is often used when tendon recovery has stalled, helping stimulate the body’s natural healing response and improve blood flow to tissue that needs a stronger healing stimulus.

It’s commonly used for conditions like Achilles tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis, and tennis and golfer’s elbow. When combined with progressive loading and guided strengthening, Shockwave Therapy can be a helpful tool in supporting tendon recovery.

We offer Shockwave treatments in-clinic. For pricing and more details, check out our website, royalcityphysio.com or call us at 604-553-1203.

Rehab is about progress — not perfection.

As we head into the new year, it’s a good reminder that recovery is rarely a straight line. Our role as physiotherapists is to help you move through the setbacks, the steps forward, and everything in between. We’ll push you when it’s needed and remind you to slow down when your body calls for it.

The new year is a chance to look back on the progress, challenges, and wins — and we’ve shared plenty of those with our clients and staff this year. Here’s to finding your stride in 2026 and we're here when you need us!

We asked our physios and staff about their favourite holiday treats… but really we just wanted to know what to get them for Christmas. 😅🎄

If you’re looking for a little “thank you” idea this season, our team will never say no to a good treat!

At RCP we’ve got two kinds of holiday energy: the gift-rippers, the paper-folders… and one surprise bonus category just because. 🎁

We love them all — our team keeps things interesting in the best way.
Do you fold like Chris or rip like the rest of them? Also, apparently we need to get Diego a gift this year!

Good advice doesn’t have to be complicated. Here’s what our physios want you to keep in your back pocket this year💡

Our RCP team has been out in the community supporting some incredible local sports lately!

Paige, Simrat, and Chloe caught the Whitecaps in action, Jayme and Chris were cheering on the PWHL a few weeks ago, and we loved seeing the Vancouver Warriors kick off their first home game of the season on November 29th.

From soccer to hockey to lacrosse, there’s so much talent in the Lower Mainland—and we’re proud to be supporting it in and out of the clinic!

We’re proud to share that our senior physiotherapist and founder, Karen Nichol, is returning for her third season as Rehab Director for the Vancouver Warriors.

As the lead physiotherapist for the players, Karen has spent the past two seasons supporting the team with injury management, recovery, and performance care — and she’s set for another great year alongside the athletes and staff.

The Warriors’ first game of the season is November 29th vs. Colorado, and we’re looking forward to cheering them on.
