Mindfulness is giving yourself permission to be fully present in this moment, exactly as it is. Let your awareness settle, and learn how to positively anchor yourself.

One mindfulness technique that helps you stay present is grounding. What is grounding, you may ask?

💡Grounding is a practice that helps you connect with the present moment, your body, and your surroundings, especially when anxious, stressed, or feeling overwhelmed. It helps you feel centered, calm, and focused throughout the day.

Here are some examples:

Object Focus Method: Hold an item and use your senses to notice its texture, temperature, weight, and more.

Breathing Method: Inhale, hold, and exhale for 4 seconds at each stage repeatedly for as long as you need.

Movement Method: Stretch, walk slowly, or press your feet firmly into the floor.

Try these exercises for a few minutes, or whenever you feel your mind racing. Feel free to share which grounding techniques work best for you!

✅ A: Therapy is a process that takes time and effort. Progress often comes gradually as you develop insight, coping skills, and new ways of thinking.

2️⃣ "You have to talk about your childhood to benefit"
✅ A: While exploring past experiences can be helpful, therapy also focuses on present challenges, behaviour patterns, and practical mindfulness strategies to support your well-being.

While Fall is often associated with cozy routines, fresh starts, and seasonal traditions, it can also bring new stressors. From the adjustment of shorter days and readjusting to busier schedules, to preparing to the weather turning colder.

That’s why we’re sharing 4 simple ways to care for yourself this Fall:

🏡Declutter Your Space: Clear out Summer items and make room for cozy fall comforts. Working and living in an organized environment as we get into new routines can reduce our stress and give us the feeling of a fresh start for the season ahead.

🚶Spend Time Outside Daily: Enjoy the crisp air, notice the changing leaves, or take a mindful walk. Daily exercise is good for both our physical and mental health, giving us a boost in energy and grounding our feelings.

🔄Refresh Your Routine: Adjust sleep, meal prep, or exercise habits to match shorter days and accommodate potentially busier schedules. Reflect on when and where in your schedule you need a break and what you need to do to prioritize your wellness.

💭Reflect on Your Intentions & Goals: Reflect on what you’d like to invite in before the year ends. Reassess your goals and areas of focus that may have changed since the beginning of Summer and be kind to yourself if adjustments need to be made.
