🪞Post-Therapy Reflection: Why It Matters

Therapy doesn’t end when the session does. In fact, some of the most powerful insights happen after you leave the room. 💭

Taking time to reflect post-session can:
✨ Deepen your understanding
✨ Help emotions settle
✨ Strengthen the connection between what’s said in therapy and what’s felt in real life

Not sure where to start? Try asking yourself:
→ What stood out to me today?
→ How am I feeling right now—emotionally and physically?
→ What might this be telling me?
→ How does this connect to my everyday life?
→ What’s one way I can take care of myself today?

Whether it’s journaling, sitting quietly, or simply noticing what lingers, reflection is a form of self-respect—and part of the healing. 🌿

Save this post if you want to start a post-therapy ritual 🧘‍♀️💬

Grief isn’t only about death.
As David Kessler reminds us, “We experience grief every time we experience a change we didn’t want.”

As therapists, we hold space for grief in all its forms—losing a job, a relationship, a version of ourselves, or even a dream we hoped would become real.

Grief is love with nowhere to go. 💛
Whatever you’re grieving, know that what you’re feeling is valid. And it deserves support.

7 Reasons Why Maintaining Social Connections Matters 💬💛

We all know that staying connected with others feels good, but did you know it's also essential for our well-being? Here are 7 reasons why maintaining social connections is key to a healthier, happier life:

1️⃣ **Emotional Support** – Having a support system means you don’t have to go through challenges alone. Emotional connection helps us feel heard, seen, and cared for.

2️⃣ **Sense of Belonging** – Strong relationships create a sense of community and make us feel like we’re part of something bigger.

3️⃣ **Reduced Loneliness** – Connecting with others helps combat feelings of isolation and helps us feel connected to the world around us. Humans are social creatures after all!

4️⃣ **Increased Happiness** – Socializing brings joy! Positive interactions can elevate your mood and bring more smiles to your life.

5️⃣ **Cognitive Health** – Engaging in meaningful conversations and activities strengthens brain function and keeps your mind sharp.

6️⃣ **Accountability and Motivation** – Having friends and family to lean on can motivate us to achieve our goals and hold us accountable to our best selves.

7️⃣ **Stress Relief** – Talking things out and having a support network can help reduce stress and provide comfort in tough times.

Your relationships matter. Invest in them, nurture them, and watch your well-being flourish! 🌱💖

Common Misconception About Boundaries 🚦

A lot of us believe that setting a boundary means others will automatically respect it. But the truth is, boundaries are less about controlling others’ behaviour and more about what you do when someone crosses them.

Here’s an example:
Let’s say you set a boundary to not allow work to spill into your personal time after hours. You’ve clearly communicated this to your boss or coworker. But then… you still get an email or call at 8 PM.

What do you do?
Enforcing the boundary means not answering the email or call until work hours. It’s not about expecting others to never cross the line—it’s about how you protect your peace when they do.

Boundaries in Action:
🧡 A boundary isn’t just what you say—it’s what you’re willing to do to uphold it.
🧡 Enforcing boundaries can feel uncomfortable at first, but it’s a vital act of self-respect.
🧡 Remember, it’s okay if others don’t immediately adjust. Your consistency in honouring your boundaries teaches them how to treat you over time.

Boundaries aren’t about perfection—they’re about practice. What’s one way you can enforce your boundaries this week? 💪

Healing Through Inner Child Work 🌱

Have you heard the term inner child work and wondered what it means? Let’s break it down:

Your “inner child” represents the younger version of you—carrying your childhood experiences, emotions, and beliefs. Inner child work involves reconnecting with this part of yourself to heal wounds, nurture unmet needs, and embrace growth.

Why It’s Important:
🌟 It helps uncover patterns and triggers rooted in childhood.
🌟 It allows you to address past hurts with compassion.
🌟 It nurtures creativity, playfulness, and self-love.

How It Works:
🧸 Acknowledge your inner child’s feelings (hurt, joy, fear).
🧸 Practice self-compassion and reparent yourself by giving the love and care you needed back then.
🧸 Use visualization, journaling, or therapy to connect with this younger version of you.

Your inner child is not a burden—it’s a guide to deeper healing and self-awareness. 💖

Have you explored your inner child before? Let us know your thoughts!

🌿 **Self-Care is ____________.** 🌿

Take a deep breath. Close your eyes for a moment and let this prompt sink in. **What comes to mind first for you?**

💡 Whatever it is—big or small, simple or profound—trust it. Trust your instinct, your inner wisdom. It knows exactly what you need.

Is it rest? Movement? Connection? Silence? Nourishment? Whatever arises, honour it. That’s your inner compass guiding you toward care and peace. 💛

✨ **Share with us!** What does self-care mean to you right now? Drop it in the comments, or journal it for yourself today.

You are worthy of the care your heart is asking for. 🕊️

**How to Take Care of Your Mental Health This Valentine’s Day 💕**

Valentine’s Day can bring up a mix of emotions—whether you’re celebrating with someone special, flying solo, or feeling the pressure of the holiday. Whatever your relationship status, this day is a great reminder to prioritize your own mental well-being.

Here are some tips to make this Valentine’s Day about love *for yourself* and others:

🌹 **Practice Self-Compassion** – Be kind to yourself. It’s okay if today doesn’t look picture-perfect. You are enough, just as you are.

💌 **Celebrate All Kinds of Love** – Romantic love isn’t the only kind of love that matters. Celebrate friendships, family, or even the love you have for your pet!

🍫 **Indulge in Self-Care** – Treat yourself to something you love: a cozy night in, your favourite meal, or a relaxing bath. You deserve it.

💞 **Connect with Loved Ones** – Feeling lonely? Reach out to someone you care about. A simple chat can brighten your day.

🌸 **Let Go of Pressure** – Social media may paint an idealized picture of love, but real life is much messier. Focus on what feels authentic and meaningful to you.

This Valentine’s Day, remember that love starts within. You are worthy of care, compassion, and joy every single day. 🌟

**It’s Okay to Feel It All 💙**

Many of us have been taught to avoid uncomfortable emotions—whether it's sadness, anger, or even joy. We might fear feeling "too much," worry about being overwhelmed, or believe that ignoring our feelings will make them disappear. But the truth is, avoiding emotions doesn't make them go away—it just buries them deeper.

It might feel counterintuitive to growth or healing because facing difficult emotions can seem painful or even scary. We often think that pushing through or distracting ourselves is the best way forward. However, true healing happens when we allow ourselves to fully experience our emotions without judgment.

By giving ourselves permission to feel it all, we:
✨ Gain deeper self-awareness and understanding
✨ Develop emotional resilience and strength
✨ Heal unresolved wounds and patterns
✨ Cultivate greater compassion for ourselves and others

Remember, feeling your emotions is not a setback—it's a step forward. 💛
