Nutritionist’s Diary. February 14th 2023, Valentine’s Day and I am so proud of myself! Why?
A P lace I visited today is called “Dessert Lady”. Very pretty place. Tons of desserts. And I have a sweet tooth.. So a juicy challenge right there :-)
Yet, sweets hurt me (nowadays even in small amounts, and it’s a different story for another time).
To come out of the coffee shop feeling good, safe and sound I had to stay in an ADULT position instead of a CHILDISH one.
Heh? - you’d say, - what do you mean, Anna? (I bet some of you might have guessed already!)
Staying in adult position means choosing things that serve his/hers greatest good well.
My tummy can’t handle much coffee, so I went for matcha .
My tummy doesn’t feel like having sweets, so I went for… guess what? 😜
(You don’t need to guess for too long, I will share in the upcoming post what I went for).
The bottom line, I am so happy with myself, I feel good, I eat well for my body, I feel as an adult 😃 that took responsibility for own’s health and wellness (by the way it is an achievement for me in the light of recent study of my body reaction to sugar and too much coffee, so giving kudos to self).
Yet, many people think “they can’t change things” because they just can’t (and keep on going for sweets when in coffee shop, having coffee when it doesn’t make them feel well, not hearing body signals etc).
It’s not that people just can’t. People choose not to. And that’s important to understand and take responsibility for one’s action.
Interestingly enough for many of my clients it’s an eye-opener.. and for some, it is a great welcome into Adulthood.
PS by no means I want to say DONT eat sweets or STOP drinking coffee. What I am saying is that it’s beneficiary to SWITCH ON SELF-AWARENESS. And to understand
- what am I doing?
- why am I doing this?
- how does it serve me?
- does it serve my best health?
Being in the position of self-awareness, in my practice, creates magic.
Love and tell me how often are you aware of what/why and how you do?
Anna
