Planting day with the Homegrown Society! Last weekend, a group of amazing volunteers got together to plant 100+ plants 🌱

This was the culmination of weeks of work - volunteers took on the task of removing an insane amount of the invasive species . This plant spreads its seeds in the wind and gains a foothold in forests like the in Aurora, Ontario by emerging earlier in spring than many native plants. By the time native species are ready to grow, garlic mustard has blocked their sunlight and outcompeted them for moisture and vital nutrients. Since its arrival in North America in the 1800’s, it has escaped into the wild and is now one of Ontario’s most aggressive forest invaders.

To all of our friends and amazing customers,

Tomorrow morning I go into surgery to reattach the severed tendons in my left index finger.

After a fateful cleaning accident on Friday December 29th, in which I battled some broken glass - I lost the use of the finger that was cut.

I was informed by the surgeon on Tuesday January 2nd that I will need reattachment surgery and many months of recovery and physiotherapy to regain use of the finger.

I would like to assure all of our loyal customers that their orders will get to them and still in a very timely manner, but with a delay of likely about 3 business days. I am training a couple of people to help me with production and shipping, but it will be a learning curve for these amazing souls and they will need a bit of extra time to get your order to you.

Thank you for your overwhelming support and for shopping small during the holiday season - I hope you all enjoyed your purchases and that many smiles were to be had when gifting!!

We will be restocking many of our products that sold out over the holidays over the next two weeks - if there’s something you really need but see is not available, please reach out and I’ll see what we can do :)
