It’s Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Awareness Week, and we’re introducing Nicole Boetto, Physician Assistant, the newest member of Southlake’s Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Program.

Delivered in collaboration with Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and partially funded by Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO), the program supports patients ages 18 to 43 with compassionate, whole-person care that goes beyond treatment.

This Purple Day, we’re shining a light on epilepsy awareness and the expert teams helping patients access care, close to home. 💜

Southlake Health’s neurology team, including Dr. Kyle Goldberger, neurologist, epilepsy specialist, and Division Head of Neurology, works closely with Farrah, EEG/EMG Technologist, and our diagnostic team to support patients through the assessment and management of epilepsy.

Electroencephalogram (EEG) testing is an important tool in diagnosing and managing epilepsy. With Southlake’s growing neurology program and specialized expertise, patients can access the care they need closer to home.

Today, we’re celebrating Dietitians’ Day and recognizing the incredible impact Southlake’s registered dietitians make every day.

RDs play a vital role in preventing and treating malnutrition, supporting recovery and healing, and empowering patients to make sustainable nutrition changes and manage chronic conditions. Through personalized care plans, they help fuel recovery, support wellbeing, and enhance the patient experience across every stage of care.

Southlake’s RDs support patients in many areas across the organization, including the Diabetes Education Centre, Cancer Centre, adult inpatient care, Restorative Care Unit, Cardiac Rehabilitation, and inpatient and outpatient Paediatrics.

As we also celebrate Nutrition Month this March, we’re proud to feature Southlake’s RDs across the hospital throughout the month and spotlight the important work they do to bring leading edge care, close to home.
