With mixed emotions, I am letting all of you, our loyal customers, know…I have retired.
In my mind, Downtown Main Street Newmarket, is the heart of our community.
Robins Pharmacy has been serving that community since 1957 when my father Bill Robins moved his young family here and purchased the store that used to be known as Lane’s.
As far as we know this is the oldest pharmacy in York Region and there has always been a pharmacy here since the the early 1900’s. My parents had the pharmacy for 30 years and I took over in 1987 after graduating from the University of British Columbia. When my dad bought the pharmacy our phone number was “6”.
I have been happy to own the pharmacy now for 37 years and to carry on the small town personal and professional service that my parents started.
Although I am excited to retire, I am also excited by the enthusiasm of the new owners who will carry on Robins Pharmacy and that neighbourly small town service with the assistance of all the same staff.
I will be gone, but even though the torch has been passed, my heart will still be here.

February 2, 2022 - Update

We are now exclusively carrying Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine for ages 12 and older. First, Second, and booster doses are available.

August 23, 2021 UPDATE

We currently only carry and administer COVID- Pfizer vaccine.

Those eligible include:

First Dose - individuals 12 years of age (born in 2009) and older;

Second Dose - individuals 12 years of age (born in 2009) and older and have received a first dose of mRNA vaccine and wish to receive a second dose can do so 21 days after their first dose of Pfizer, and 28 days after fist dose of Moderna. Those Individuals who received an Astrazenica vaccine and wish to have Pfizer vaccine for a second dose are also eligible.

Third dose - Based on the recommendations of Chief medical Officer of Health and other health experts, the province will be offering third doses of the Covid-19 vaccine to those at highest risk, providing them with an extra layer of protection against the delta variant. Please contact your primary care provider to see if you qualify. Qualification usually includes, transplant patients, patients with hematologic cancers on active treatment and recipients of and anti-CD agent.

July 15 Update

We are currently carrying Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. We no longer carry Astra Zeneca vaccine.

Individuals 12 years of age and older are eligible to obtain their first or second dose.

Second doses are available to persons who have received the first dose of MRNA vaccine, 28 days after their first dose.

For those who received an Astra Zeneca vaccine for their first dose, a second dose (Pfizer) can be administered 8 to 12 weeks after their first dose.

June 13, 2021 - UPDATE

The Ontario government announced June 12th that commencing June 14th those who had their first AstraZeneca vaccine are eligible to receive their second dose 8 weeks later. This information was provided to the general public at the same time as pharmacies and vaccination sites. Currently, we have Pfizer appointments booked this week with our current supply and no AZ in stock. While the interval change is exciting news, we’d like to set some expectations with the new development.

1. Currently we are focusing on 2nd doses for clients who received their first dose of AZ at our pharmacy. Watch for an email from us in the near future asking whether you’d like to ‘stay’ with AZ or ‘switch’ to Pfizer. If you’d like to discuss options with our pharmacist please email us at info@robinspharmacy.com.

2. If you are on our Dose 2 waitlist, you’ve done the right thing and all you can do at this point. Please do not call or come in to ask when it will be your turn. It pains us to say, but we simply don’t know. We will reach out if and when we have an appointment for you.

3. We have closed our wait list to new clients. Please check back in a few weeks as the waitlist may reopen.

May 18 Update

We have just been advised that we will be receiving our first shipment of Pfizer MRNA COVID-19 vaccine May 20th. If you have not done so already please add your name to our waiting list at Robinspharmacy.com and we will contact people on a first come first serve basis for appointments.
