Why Flossing Matters!

Brushing alone only cleans about 60% of your tooth surfaces — the rest hides between your teeth! That’s where flossing comes in.

Regular flossing helps:
✅ Remove plaque and food debris
✅ Prevent gum disease and tooth decay
✅ Keep your breath fresh
✅ Protect your overall oral health

It only takes a minute a day, but the benefits last a lifetime!

Let’s talk about something that’s easy to overlook — plaque!

Plaque is a soft, sticky film that naturally forms on your teeth every single day. It’s filled with bacteria that feed on the sugars and starches from the food you eat. When those bacteria aren’t brushed and flossed away, they produce acids that can damage your tooth enamel and irritate your gums.

Over time, untreated plaque can harden into tartar, which can’t be removed with a toothbrush — only a professional dental cleaning can get rid of it. Once tartar builds up, it increases your risk of gum disease, bad breath, and even tooth loss if left untreated.

The good news? Preventing plaque is simple!
-Brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste
-Floss daily to reach between teeth
-Rinse with mouthwash
-Visit your dentist regularly for checkups and cleanings

Keeping plaque under control means keeping your smile bright, healthy, and strong for years to come.

🦷✨ Did you know? Nearly half of adults experience some form of gum disease. It often starts with red, swollen, or bleeding gums—early signs that shouldn’t be ignored. Left untreated, gum disease can lead to tooth loss and has even been linked to health issues like heart disease and diabetes. The good news? With daily brushing, flossing, and regular dental visits, gum disease is preventable and treatable.
