MOREAID Squish Pads. The 3D printed squish pads are made with a reforming mesh system which allows it to deform and reform to the natural need of each individual horse over a period of time. This enables it to find the sweet spot of comfort which can be seen from the first steps. The squish pad helps enable the blood supply to the foot. This allows the natural repair mechanism within the foot and improves rehabilitation.

Back to the 4* Eventer that Kelvin Lymer jumped in to help!
๐Ÿ’กReminder: An acute laminitis attack in the Spring that became unmanageable via conventional methods.

We've already shown you how the horse adjusted to suit individual left and right fore using the deformability of the MoreAid Squish Pad (which you can see on the right side of this image if you need a recap!).

Now, for more interesting observations...

Take a look at the X-Rays on the left from when we first started the journey with this horse. And then, take another look at the X-Rays on the right from last month. ๐Ÿง

They found relief by increasing their own wedge, and thus heel height; reduced tendon strain and toe leverage, particularly in the right fore. With veterinary led management and owner commitment to lifestyle changes whilst in recovery, their comfort steadily increased, their abscessing stopped, their soles became tougher, the hoof wall connection became tighter. No hobbling around the barn, but trotting around - a day their owner probably thought would never come.

And that's the beauty of the Squish Pad - no angles forced or fixed, no rigidity that would remove natural flex and function, no toe nubbing to get it to fit (it's toe cuff comes pre scored to allow removal and a set back position if required), no nails in an already compromised hoof, and as much as we support it and have horses on our books living this way, better results than barefoot could achieve, or boots, for minimal damage recovery.

After many cycles in our Squish Pads, this horse has now moved onto our Spider Bar with 10A Shore DIM. We are hopeful they have been set up in good stead for the hoof to continue full function with the enhanced solar and caudal support of the Spider Bar, and chance to develop their own depth. We'll be back in a few weeks - they may have loved them and be due a repeat application, they may need a slight man made wedge, they may need and appreciate the comfort and adjustability of an incorporated Squish Bar... ๐Ÿคท

Rehab is not linear, and don't let the internet tell you otherwise. They are all individuals with individual needs, and they haven't read the text book.

Comfort first, always. Supported by science, designed with experience.

A YEAR IN REVIEW ๐Ÿ“…

Well, it's been quite the year here at The Shoeing Lab and MoreAid HQ. As we look back on some of our achievements and notable moments over the past 12 months we would like to thank you for your ongoing support and custom. It's also a good opportunity to highlight that supporting small enterprises extends so much more than just a purchase... A like, a comment, a share, word of mouth, recommendation - it all makes an enormous difference. And, as much as you like to follow our journey, we like to follow yours so keep sending those pics and vids, and carry on posting! ๐Ÿ’›

* We were still on a massive high from Kelvin winning Farrier of the Year at The Equestrian Business Awards!
* We had just launched the MoreAid Squish Spacer, with wedge options!
* We fine tuned the MoreAid Squish Pad and released it both in smaller and bigger sizes!
* We launched the MoreAid Squish Pad for donkeys! And developed a donkey shoe!
* We launched Squish DIM. First in yellow! And now in black with antibacterial properties. 10 Shore DIM. You can't beat it!
* We launched 3D Glue and then we also improved 3D Glue for better consistency and set times! The first low odour farriery friendly acrylic on the market, because your health counts just as much as theirs.
* We released the injection moulded Barefoot Ground Pad. A highly flexible, resilient, antimicrobial and grippy modern material for pure sole protection.
* We grew our MoreAid team to enable better distribution worldwide. Robbie Miller and Mark Tretheway/P3 Equine now cover South Africa, Crossan Farrier Supplies cover Northern Ireland and Liam James covers New Zealand. We watched MoreAid Australia, MoreAid Canada and 3D HoofCare grow and develop. Jim Blurton and Stromsholm saw the Squish Pad rocket to new heights.
* We launched "the collaboration" with Derek Poupard and Jim Blurton
* Kelvin doubled up with Jim for CPD clinics!
* We released glue bags for appropriate glue storage
* We gave the RS composite shoe range a face-lift
* We released PeakSport in DP pad and full pad options with additional option of a totally unique Squish Bar
* We won some goodies from BFBA for Farriers Week
* We DOUBLED our Facebook following
* We have continued investment into modern materials for further product fine tuning and speciality products
* We expanded our farriery team here at Sandpitt Forge where we run The Shoeing Lab

Let's be honest, we're going to edit to add to this several times... ๐Ÿ™Š

We wish you all the happiest of New Years celebrations with warm wishes for health, wealth and success for the year ahead. ๐Ÿฅ‚
