This awesome unit (with some original hardware) is a great representation of a mobile blacksmith rig, this one towed (or pushed/pulled), others were 2 wheeled horse drawn carts and 4 wheeled horse drawn wagons, used throughout history.
Units like this one were used from ancient times, through the middle ages, following expeditions and armies around the world including the colonization of North America until the late 19th to early 20th century when motorized vehicles became popular.
I will bring this traveling forge back to life at a variety of events and venues and as a proud member and official artificer of the 19th Light Dragoons calvary regiment at War of 1812 reenactments.
