Pregnancy: Urinary Symptoms Postpartum: Growth Spurts

Pregnancy: Urinary Symptoms

One of the first hints you may get that you are pregnant is that you are going to the bathroom more frequently. Frequent trips to the bathroom are normal during pregnancy but can also be a symptom of a urinary tract infection (UTI) which if left untreated can result in a kidney infection or preterm labour.

Postpartum: Growth Spurts

Signs of a healthy, developing baby are growth spurts! These often occur around 3 and 6 weeks of life and 3, 6 and 9 months. During a growth spurt your baby may want to eat more frequently throughout the day and cluster feed more frequently in the evening.
If you are breastfeeding/chestfeeding this doesn’t mean that you are not producing enough, it simply means that your baby wants more which they will get by being on your breast/chest.
