Hey my lovely people

I wanted to personally share some important news with you. I have recently accepted a new full-time position as a Continuing Care Development Consultant with the Saskatchewan Health Authority, starting in August. This is an exciting new chapter in my career, and it means I will no longer be offering regular foot care services through Nurse Jenn. While I learn and adjust to my new career, I will be taking a pause for the next few months.

This decision was not made lightly. It has truly been an honour to be part of your care and to build such meaningful connections through this work. My main focus will be for clients who are unable to access other services. I will be in contact with those people in the near future.

If you are looking for continued foot care, there are several excellent local providers you can contact:

Sooo even Foot nurses make mistakes lol
Today my daughter and I did a 10km mental health run. I thought I wore good shoes, I’ve had them for my shifts.
Welll…I forgot I wore insoles. Due to the base of my shoe, I had a blister developing around 6km. Can’t do anything. So here is what it looks like now. Prepared for tomorrow to be worse. So we pressure offload. For pain relief (cuz ouch) and to keep me from altering my walk. That could just cause further issues

Ever wonder what it means to get Footcare ?
It’s not quite like a pedicure, but can be very similar. All my tools are sterilized and equipment is sanitized between each client, even if you are family.
Firstly there’s a small assessment, on how you walk, have pain or other symptoms related to hips, knees, ankles and feet. Sometimes this is not an obvious task but every time I see you, I’m checking 🙂
There is NO prep on your part. If I’m coming to you, you need a comfortable place to sit and ideal if you can put your feet up. If not, I have that covered too.
If you have compression socks or unable to bathe/shower the same day, I promise it’s OK. During your appointment we can talk or not talk as much as you wish. I want you to be comfortable in my house or yours. 💕
Then we begin. This may include a test for neuropathy, assessment of your feet and a plan of action is discussed. From there I use my manual and rotary tools to trim your nails and work on any concerning issues like build up, corns, cracks and more. We may discuss how to aid yourself between visits. I do almost always recommend follow up appointments 6-8 weeks apart. Sometimes monthly depending on age and concerns.
Your appointment ends with me using a PODOexpert foaming cream and I will assist you with compression garments or socks. The entire appointment takes no more than an hour.
