The cervical screening test has replaced the Pap test because it's better at helping prevent cancer.

The cervical screening test checks for types of human papillomavirus (HPV), a virus that can sometimes cause cervical cancer in people with a cervix.

It feel just like getting a Pap test, and you also need to be screened less often (5 years vs. 3 years)!

If you're due for screening, book your appointment during the month of April for Cervical Screen-a-thon.

The Nipigon District Family Health Team will be at our next walk-in Mobile Health Clinic at the Hurkett Community Centre, Thursday, April 9 – located at 110 Hwy 582, Hurkett from 1:30-3:30pm.

Our services include:
• Blood Pressure Checks
• Vaccines(Pneumonia/Tetanus/Flu)
• Blood Sugar Checks
• On-site follow-up scheduling with healthcare providers
• A welcoming space to enjoy coffee and conversation with other locals

We look forward to supporting the community’s health — one visit at a time!

March 17, 8:23 AM: Due to the highway closure between Red Rock and Nipigon, the NDFHT clinic offices in the Jackson-Hughes Medical Centre will remain closed until further notice. If you had an appointment today with one of our providers affected by the highway closure you will be receiving a call shortly. Appointments with Dr. Scully will be proceeding as planned.
