Business is personal. I love that about what I do! I love people!

It is so important to me that you feel comfortable with the person behind the hands on your back! And that is why I am personable and do my best to ensure folks feel cared for not just as bodies but as humans.

I feel strongly that in all business endeavors, the human relationships are the most interesting, valuable and important parts! I am eternally grateful that I get to work in an environment where I really get to me myself completely and fully- and that is cherished. My wild stories of living in a tipi, hitch hiking in my 20s, and now, the birth of my child are things that might come up. I love that my wild ideas and odd interests are not things I ever have to hide at work and that folks I get to meet are happy to share space with me, even if we have nothing at all in common.

That being said, when you need quiet, I might just get the hint. I love quiet and that is honestly when I do my best work!

I’m Returning to work soon!
We got to spend two weeks with meals from the camp! It was an adjustment to living more so outdoors with a young baby but once we got the hang of it, I got more skilled with baby wraps and confident with the setting, it got much easier!
Luther Village is a place very near and dear to us- it’s where we got married! We are very sad that we’ve lost an incredible community member- Ad Van Dijk, but somehow Lisa Van Dijk is managing and the camp is thriving. It was wonderful to see the children thriving and the staff were incredible! 10/10 would recommend sending your children here and camping as a family!

ALSO! I’m returning to week very soon! Dates TBA!
I do love being attached to my little bean/munchkin (and the 100s of names I call her…) but my husband will be with her full time very soon :) Missing my clients at Down to Earth (Essential Balance) and Niverville family chiropractic too so it’ll be neat to see folks again.
What a ride motherhood has been! The highs and lows- I’m grateful for it all!

Motherhood isn’t supposed to be easy. But the simple moments can be so rewarding. Those adorable little toes, noticing her eyelashes, the tufts on her ears… I often tear up with feelings of joy and gratitude.

Everyone has their challenges and I’m grateful to be able to find great support. It takes a village! has been really helpful helping Essi overcome some difficulty latching after introducing the bottle. Since I have low milk supply I also contacted Aislinn and I’m so grateful for her knowledge and expertise in this area as well. Care from both of these women has been so genuine , compassionate and effective.

I’ve had a lot of support. It takes a village! Thank you so much!

I also got a great massage at home with 💆‍♀️ pelvic floor therapy (plus more!) from Jaime Angus and osteo with

We can’t forget about babysitting from auntie Paige so I could give my husband a massage! 💆‍♂️

Nothing is linear and we’re a work in progress but just every moment is new.

I got to take my first Spinning Babies course yesterday! Wow I’m so grateful for all the support and encouragement from new friend and my family. It’s an interesting time of life, but we never stop learning! Feeling inspired to learn more about birth physiology in greater depth, breech pregnancy and birth, scar tissue release.

I am off work until September now (for about 5 months)
And golly do I ever feel loved. I will miss my work! Last time I tried something else I ended up working part time before I had to. My thumbs were twiddling and I missed it!!!
For now, It’s about that time to nest… but first I must reflect on how beautiful life has been as part of folks’ lives. I LOVE hearing about your kids, your body pains, your success’ your failures your stresses. I love knowing what you’re excited about, about your relationships, your subjects of curiosity, your reflections about society or just hearing about whatever is on your mind. I love being part of your journey in this life, and seeing you transform or maintain, being here to see your highs and lows.
I am so grateful to witness you on the treatment table and I thank you for your trust, your openness and your presence. One of my people often say “you have a gift” and I always want to say something like “it’s easy in your presence.” 🎁. (I love the 🧀)

This month especially I’ve been feeling the support and love from my people (I started calling ‘clients’ my people because I’m realizing how much I value these interactions.) I’ve been processing what it will be like to transition from my identity as Stacey the Massage therapist to Stacey the mother. It feels like the natural progression in life that I gratefully accept but didn’t feel like I needed to validate my existence. I feel so grateful to be on the journey of parenthood with the love of my life and number one admirer . Who motivates me to be a better person every day. (But making the bed has not been a priority lately… sorry love - sausage fingers from pregnancy 🤰 make this unpleasant :p)

In this image, This pattern is a perfect fit for the little things I love- mushrooms 🍄‍🟫 and 🐌 slow things of the forest 🌳 green things like wise and slow growing ferns which make us pause, and experience wonder for the simple things.

As we prep for this new journey I must say thank you for all my clients and colleagues for really truly making me feel deeply supported.

Hugs to you all! Thank you 🥹

I was just making a list, checking it twice, all the thoughtful nice people who have brought us gifts. 🎁 or presence in preparation for our sweet baby on the way.
We haven’t even thrown a celebration for our growing bean! 🎉 We’re so grateful for all your generosity and SUCH CUTE THINGS!!!! 🥰
Thank you everyone SO much for your giving presences! We finally went to a midwife appointment together and it felt so good to be in this together.

Love is in the air for 👶 Baby!

Thank you for seeing some light in darkness. For taking the time to see what can shine in the dark. Sometimes it feels like the skies speak in a language we can’t process. Maybe it’s not for us, maybe it doesn’t really have a purpose or a reason but just is, whether we’re looking or not.

Sending love to anyone who may be grieving losses. May one spirit move through the darkness to something new. May all spirits be free.
May we find peace in life and death alike.

Mullein
(Verbascum thapsis) my favourite plant! (Photo from summer 2023)
Mullein: hardy, strong, soft and vibrant every other year. With sage green leaves that are elegant yet soft like toilet paper and vibrant yellow flowers that bloom in it’s second year. She is understated at times and vibrant and bold in others. She has a strong, tall stem and flowers that are blooming all summer every other year. I have much respect and admiration for this plant, for it is hardy in soil that is otherwise difficult to grow other plants, and when mullein dies, it leaves the soil more nourishing and scatters thousands of seeds.

My New Year’s resolution: to be soft and strong like mullein. And with this foundstion, I’ll build the structure to grow into a bold and vibrant, beautifully nourishing being. ❤️ fitting especially in my journey to motherhood.
25 weeks pregnant and all is well. 🩵
