Bo decided to arrive 8 weeks early on his Aunty Megan’s Bachelorette in Canmore/Banff. Dad drove fast and made it just in time to the Calgary hospital. Bo is healthy, and doing well!
Our story so far:
I started my day enjoying coffee with my cousins and sitting by the pool. I started having contractions that wouldn’t subside and couldn’t ignore. Decided for peace of mind I should go to the Canmore hospital and get checked out to make sure everything was ok. Aunty Sarah wouldn’t let me go alone. Soon after I arrived the doctor did his intake and an assessment. I was 3cm Dilated and was in preterm labour. They gave me a medication to slow down my labour and a steroid for baby’s lungs to grow. They called an ambulance and I was driven to the Calgary Foothills hospital with Sarah by my side. Connor was on the road and rushing to meet us. Arrived at Foothills hospital, experienced many preterm labor complications but was taken care of by the best doctors (I will never forget them). Connor arrived at the hospital and Bo arrived very shortly after. Bo was Born 32 weeks 5 days and was rushed to the NICU. We learnt that Bo would be in the Calgary hospital for 8 weeks until he was term. Two days old we had wonderful news from the NICU manager that Alberta health was going to air ship us home. 8 hours later (2.5 days old) Bo and were on a small medi airplane getting sent home to the Saskatoon NICU. Bo got his first plane ride and I like to think his Nana got to see him a little closer in the sky. 🪽 We never imagined this being our story but we are so grateful for everyone who has been involved in my care, Bo’s care and supporting us along the way. Connor and I are so in love with our baby and can’t wait to share him with the world.
