This month, we had the pleasure of welcoming Bethany from 𝑵𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒏 𝑷𝒐𝒅𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒚 to Barclay House Talks! Bethany shared her incredible expertise and passion for podiatry, giving us a deeper understanding of foot health and wellness!

Full Circle Moments on Lake Nipissing!

In 1969, Lucy Toth built a charming house on the South Shore of beautiful Lake Nipissing—a place where her award-winning gardens bloomed and memories were planted deep in the soil.

Fast forward 50 years later, when the house found a new owner: Emma Jones, now Executive Director of Barclay House. Emma had only ever heard stories of Lucy and her legendary gardens, never imagining she’d one day meet her—let alone discover that Lucy would become a resident of Barclay House!

And here’s the twist of fate: the very week Emma started her role at Barclay House was the same week Lucy moved in.

This summer, Lucy and her daughter took a quick trip back to the lake, revisiting the home she built and the view she cherished. It was an emotional moment; however, it was also filled with joy - knowing that her legacy lives on in the very place she once called home.

From one garden to another, life has a beautiful way of coming full circle.
