Thank you Dave for sharing these photos of area residents who have been able to find a pair of stylish shoes which we donated to Trinity United Church. So happy to help out.

Merci Dave pour ces photos. Quel plaisir de voir que des résidents de North Bay ont trouvé Chaussures à leurs pieds à l’église Trinity United provenant de notre don.

Hello everybody. We’re happy to announce Asher as our newest clinical Orthotic Resident. He graduated from Lakehead University with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology before completing his Master of Science at the University of Manitoba in kinesiology with a focus on biomechanics. He most recently graduated from the 2 year Clinical Methods in Prosthetics and Orthotics program at George Brown College. With a love of the outdoors - be it hiking, camping, mountain biking, or rock climbing - he's excited to begin the next chapter of his life in North Bay. He's a self described geek with a passion for reading, video games, board games, and anything fantasy or sci-fi. Welcome to the team Asher!

Big shoutout to Dave who does volunteer at Trinity United Church. He dropped by the Lab last week to pick up around 3 dozens pairs of new and slightly used shoes for donation to the most vulnerable amongst us. He has seen many that go without footwear right here in this city. We are happy to help our community in our own little way.

Ever wonder what makes Certified Orthotists so good at fabricating custom made foot orthotics? It’s the time honoured technique of hand casting of the feet that sets us apart. A proper assessment prior to casting includes determining each person’s “neutral” foot alignment. The 3D shape capture is a learned skill in itself and the start of a perfect pair of foot orthotics.

April is Limb Loss and Limb difference Awareness month in Canada and the world. Nipissing
Orthopaedic Lab has offered prosthetic services since the early 1990’s. We are proud to be
part of the journey of individuals living with limb loss or limb difference.

Take the time to listen to better understand the unique experiences of people that navigate the daily challenges of prosthetic usage yet continue to live life fully.

April is Limb Loss & Limb Difference Awareness Month, a time to recognize the strength and resilience of those living with amputations and limb differences. 🦾🧡

This month is about more than awareness. It is an opportunity to celebrate amputees' accomplishments, highlight their challenges, and advocate for their rights and interests.

For more than 100 years, The War Amps has been at the forefront of helping amputees through vital programs and services like CHAMP, advocating for amputees’ rights, and offering peer support.

Follow along as we share inspiring stories, educational facts, and ways to get involved.

Hello everyone, best wishes in the new year. We don’t post as often as we should as everyone is very busy. We remain dedicated to the highest level of care and service in the field of orthotics and prosthetics. We are in Timmins and New Liskeard for monthly clinics should you need to see us closer to home. Call us in North Bay to make appointments in those communities. Thank you for your continued support.

The best part of our day, summarized in a short video! Of course we could not do this without our amazing technicians that fabricate these devices as well as front office staff doing their important work.

We appreciate so much all the support The War Amps provides to our profession and our clients.
