On this very special day we would like to thank and honour all the veterans who selflessly fought, lost and continue to lose their lives for our country; to ensure that we are able to enjoy the comforts and freedoms that come with being Canadian. To help pay respect to those that bravely put themselves in harms way to ensure we have a functioning democracy and that we can raise our children in a country that they can grow to be proud of. A country to which they are provided choice to be who they chose. A country to which they can safely raise a family. The most beautiful country in the world.

Many of us lost sons and daughters, fathers and uncles, mothers and brothers, so that we can live in the peaceful society we now know. Words alone could not express our gratitude and the respect that we hold in our hearts for each person who served, and for those who did not get to come home and enjoy the country they lost their lives fighting for.

They were heroes. They are heroes.

Lest we forget.

The Homecoming

The crowds are cheering as we welcome them home,
A joyful noise of Peace,
With lots of hugs and happiness
The fighting has finally ceased.

Children are smiling and jumping for joy
To see their parents come home
The feeling of love and togetherness
means only peace will be known.

On this National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, our residents and team members came together to recognize and remember all of the indigenous children who endured the residential schooling system, and it's trauma that continues to be felt to this day.

ENJOY THE SUGAR BECAUSE LIFE IS SWEET!

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the Waters Edge Fall Carnival!

It was a day filled with lots of laughs, food, music, and for some, an ice-cold bath in the dunk tank!
This event would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication from every team member! It was a great day for both team members and residents to change the usual pace and get to spend time together without any intellectual demand and just enjoy themselves!
We are so pleased to have been able to incorporate information and drawings of our anticipated new building that will formally be known as “Northern Heights Care Community”, a name chosen by our very own resident Renee Everingham. Team members and residents gathered around the blueprint designs to see what it will be like and ask questions with the Leadership team.
We would also like to extend a HUGE thank you to Tim Horton’s for preparing 250 individually wrapped smile cookies for the event! They certainly brought a smile to everyone’s face!
There is no prettier fall then carnival!

We are thrilled that we had the opportunity to host the "New Naming Event" for Waters Edge Care Community on August 6th, 2021. What an honor to have a resident selected name chosen to represent our new home! We are still WATERS EDGE but soon... NORTHERN HEIGHTS! Congratulations Renee Everingham for choosing a great and suitable name to represent the new building!

“I enjoy being part of this community, and I am thrilled that the name chosen was put forward by a resident – it is such an honour,” said Renee. “For me, North Bay is a hub of the north, and the word heights represents the stage of life for most of us here - as seniors, we have lived to reach the highest stage.”

We are thrilled to share that our President and CEO Nitin Jain hosted Doug Ford, Premier of Ontario, Rod Phillips, Minister of Long-Term Care, Vic Fedeli, MPP for Nipissing and Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, and His Worship Al McDonald, Mayor of North Bay at the site of the future home of Sienna’s newest care community to be constructed in North Bay, Ontario.

The new care community will eventually replace Waters Edge Care Community, with a comfortable and modern 160 bed home – adding 12 more beds to better meet the needs of the North Bay community. We have been working hard to ensure that everyone who lives, visits and works there will be proud of the upgraded space.

There is nothing more Canadian than a pop-up Tim Hortons Drive Thru making it’s way across Waters Edge Care Community to help residents celebrate Canada Day 2021!

The North Bay Community is AMAZING!
We would like to extend a HUGE THANK YOU and express our utmost appreciation for the hardworking team and management at the Tim Hortons location 368 LAKESHORE DRIVE. This special event would not have been possible without the generous donation of coffee and Timbits and the amazing staff that had everything ready to go when we arrived.
