Bittersweet Congratulations
💞It is bittersweet to announce the departure of Brittany McCrea from Bright Raven Psychotherapy at the end of April. Brittany has been an integral member of our team for 2 years and we are sad to see her leave as she focuses on her own private practice.
Brittany and I have been colleagues for over a decade. It has been a pleasure to be her clinical supervisor and witness her tremendous professional and personal growth over the years. Her qualities of determination, self-reflection, honesty, commitment, and caring heart have been gifts to every client she has served.
🐦⬛ Watching Brittany's growth has reminded me of why I hold clinical supervision so close to my heart. Second only to my role as a therapist, supervision is my most important calling. At its heart, it is a deeply relational endeavor centered on the professional and personal growth of clinicians who bring me their questions, their uncertainties, and their developing sense of self as healers.
To mentor someone in this work is a privilege I do not take lightly. I view mentorship of fellow therapists as an investment in the future of this field. When I sit with a clinician, whether they are newly licensed or seasoned in their practice, I am not simply reviewing cases or ensuring ethical compliance. I am walking alongside someone in the ongoing, often humbling process of becoming. Becoming more skilled, yes, but also becoming more self-aware, more grounded, and more capable of tolerating the profound weight that therapeutic work places on the human beings who do it.
💫 It has been my pleasure to walk alongside Brittany and to see her take this courageous step and launch Wellness Waves Psychotherapy. I could not be more proud. She has everything it takes — the heart, the ethics, and the grit — to build something truly meaningful. Join me in gratitude and congratulations to Brittany as she moves ahead with her future.
