🐟Fish twice per week is recommended by Canada's Food Guide.

This helps us to reach our omega-3 goals, encourages healthy fats and is a great source of protein!

I always have canned tuna on hand... It has so many uses besides a tuna salad sandwich!

Making sushi is pretty easy. Watch any YouTube tutorial to learn how! 🍣

For my recipe, I added sesame seeds to the rice to increase fiber and flavor πŸ‘Œ

I mixed one can of tuna with a tablespoon of teriyaki sauce.

We only had carrots so I used those, but they would also taste delicious with cucumber or avocado!

Super simple Greek yogurt blueberry bark!

Ingredients:

🫐1 cup plain greek yogurt
🫐1 Tablespoon maple syrup (add more if you like it sweet)
🫐1 Tablespoon chia seeds
🫐1/2 cup frozen blueberries

Directions:
Mix together, and spread on a 1/2 baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Or I used a fruit leather mold, if you have one!
Freeze for 1 to 2 hours.
Pop out of the mold, or break into pieces and place into a freezer bag.
Keep frozen until ready to enjoy!

--> Full of fibre, protein, calcium, and antioxidants 😍

For some odd reason kids just like frozen things? Maybe because its like ice cream 🀷

Today I was feeling a little extra overwhelmed and stimulated after a busy day at work and an attempt at last minute Christmas shopping (good luck if you are still out there...).

My girls were requesting my attention and my brain just needed a rest. SO we made fancy "mocktails" and I put beach sounds/scene on YouTube. We closed our eyes, pretend to be relaxing at the beach. πŸ–οΈπŸŽ„

This is your reminder to take a deep breath, Christmas can be busy but it doesn't have to be. Things will get done, and if they don't meh 🀷

Had a blast this morning at our final Nutrition and Aging Class! We had some yummy sweet treats, high in protein and fibre, low in added sugars. We discussed reducing added sugar intake, and pairing carbohydrates with fibre and protein to slow the release of sugars into your bloodstream.

Having a sweet tooth doesn't mean you have to skip out on nutrition! Try finding sweets/recipes that are low in added sugar and high in protein and fiber.

I loveeeee fresh rolls!

They are a summer fav, with fresh mango. But why not swap them out for roasted sweet potatoes to make them with an autumn spin?!

Our Nutrition and Aging Worship featured these amazing fresh rolls, filled with fresh veg, flavourful mint and savory peanut sauce 🀀
