💚 February is Heart Health Month 💚

Here are some helpful tips to reduce the risk of heart disease

❤ Eat Well

Heart-healthy choices can help lower your risk of heart disease and stroke, whether eating at home or dining out.

❤ Get moving

The benefits of healthy activity, by adding 20-30 minutes of exercise into your daily routine, can make a big difference.

❤ Smoking cessation

Smoking and exposure to second-hand smoke increases your risk of developing heart disease or strokes.

Our clinic offers STOP (Smoking Treatment for Ontario Patients) services for our patients. However, those without a primary care provider can access this 6-week program online. See link below for more information or to register.

❤ Managing stress

Identifying things that are causing you stress so you can deal with them effectively.
Dealing with stress can involve creating a calming environment, establishing routines and practicing relaxation techniques. Key strategies include limiting media consumption, exercising, practicing mindfulness, setting boundaries and ensuring adequate sleep to recharge.

🥜 January Needs: Peanut Butter! 🥜

Peanut butter is one of the most valuable food bank donations: high in protein and easy to use for meals and school lunches. It’s a reliable staple that helps support local families when they need it most.

💛 Monetary donations are also greatly appreciated, as they allow us to purchase the items most needed. 👉 Donate online: https://www.northbayfoodbank.ca/donate/
