Monetary Donation: By making a financial gift to Nipissing Transition House, your donation helps the shelter provide abused women and children in your community with extra needs that arise through the winter and holiday season.

Gift Cards: These are very useful gifts to receive during the holidays. Gift cards allow women and children to purchase what they need or want the most, including food for their family.

Mamas! This year, schools in the North could use several items. Don't forget if you pack a box (the most economical are the flat rate Canada Post boxes) to send us a photo of the box so we can share! Haven’t posted in a while. Truthfully, life catches up to you. A lot is going on all the time. Are my kids playing on 5 sports teams concurrently? Yes. Do I wish there was a fu***ng break? Yes.

But I think all the mamas in this community know well that you can only do your best, and not all of the time - just most. I can’t do everything amazingly all of the time.

So when they ask to stay up later to do something quiet and solo, like draw, as much as I just want everyone to go to bed (because it’s 10pm) so I can watch “my programs,” I do it. I am tired. They are tired. But we have time sometimes to just enjoy the moment. Even though my bed calls!

Tell me mamas: What’s a moment you’ve had recently where you were absolutely totally 100% drained but were like “I can do this one thing for my kid anyway”?
