Growing up on a dairy farm in ''le bocage Avesnois'' in France, I was always very close to Nature. My Dad would be harvesting forage and taught me how to milk cows, while my Mum grew all kinds of plants in her garden and gave me her green thumb. ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
I always had a dream of having my own farm, which would have been difficult to do in France. So after finishing my Master's in Agriculture, I worked for a year helping dairy farmers transition to Organic practices, and then moved to Canada. ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
Once we realized that buying a farm in Cape Breton was not only possible but also fairly inexpensive (that was 12 years ago...), we jumped on our dream property and have been slowly building it back up since. ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
I couldn't have dreamed of a better place to raise our 3 boys, and we're so lucky to call Cape Breton our home. ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
Even if we're pouring a lot of sweat and tears into it, our farm is a dream come true!

Facebook friends, we need your help.

There was a quantity of red sandstone on a pallet (stone was similar to picture below - some pieces were larger) at the rear of the Escape Outdoors building. Unfortunately, within the last couple of weeks, it has been stolen :(

We traveled to Pictou to source and purchase this stone so that it would match the facade of our building. We're offering a reward for information that will lead to its return. This stone likely doesn't mean much to the person who took it, but it means a lot to us because it's a match and is not easily found.

Any help or information is greatly appreciated! Or, we appeal to the person who took, to simply bring it back. Perhaps you didn't realize someone owned it. The building is a recently designated historic property and we've been working hard to maintain the inside and facade, while keeping the character. To have this material stolen, is incredibly discouraging.
